One of the aspects of scouting high school football that I enjoy is looking for rising talent who are not getting much attention. At least not yet.

Whether it is kids looking for their shot with the bigger schools or guys already stepping up at the smaller schools but haven't received much if any coverage. Every year we see ballers in this predicament seemingly emerge from nowhere to make their names known.

These are the guys I am looking for.

Sometimes these relative unknowns are hard to find but with a good feedback loop getting established with coaches and players around the state and the drive to flush them out, I am slowly but surely getting the word out on these guys.

In this report we are taking a look at five guys who are getting differing amounts of low-level attention so far, but are getting ready to make some noise this fall. They play a variety of positions and represent numerous classes but one thing they all have in common is the drive to put in the off-season grind to be great.

So, without further adieu, let's dive in and take and take a quick look:

[player_tooltip player_id='1638191' first='Chyler' last='Walker'], 6'5, 235, TE, Derby, '28, is another Panther prospect getting ready to take his game to the next level this fall as a big-target tight end with major upside. He already has a prototype frame with great reach and an outstanding catch radius. He has strong hands and is adept at making the contested catch working over the middle or climbing the ladder to high-point the ball in the end zone. A strong blocker in the run game, he has good feet, lower-body power and an aggressive attitude burying defenders in the turf on down blocks or in one-on-ones. He has already committed to the off-season grind, training before school and working out with the track team after. He is making great gains in the vaunted Derby off-season program and is getting ready to take his game to the next level in 2025.

[player_tooltip player_id='1638196' first='Larry' last='Jeremiah'], 6'1, 165, RB/DB, Hutchinson, '28, LJ is a rising star two-way playmaker who makes things happen on both sides of the ball. On offense he is an instinctive running back with excellent agility negotiating traffic and great burst breaking into the open. On defense he is a versatile standout in the secondary who can play as a lockdown corner or over the top as a safety. He has good read and react skills and flies to the football with impressive closing speed. In the off-season, he plays hoops and is already stepping up big for the Kansas Colts in 7v7 with numerous interceptions in their most recent outing. In between he is training in the off-season with his Salthawk teammates doing speed work and pounding the iron. This guy is getting ready for a breakout season this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1638201' first='Kevin' last='Jackson Jr'], 5'7, 150, RB/DB, Blue Valley, '28, is another underclassman on the rise as a versatile two-way baller who can run and catch out of the backfield on offense, or flip sides and play anywhere needed in the secondary. As a running back he has good instincts and spatial awareness sizing up gaps and looking for openings. He has a quick burst, with top-end acceleration and once he makes a cut and breaks into the open he creates separation in a hurry. On defense he has an eye for the ball and the potential to be a lockdown cornerback who can get in the receiver's face mask, flip hips and mirror the route or collapse in on the running game. In the off-season he runs indoor and outdoor track, blazing through the sprints and as a part of 4x100 relay team. This guy is just getting warmed up and looking to shine this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1474404' first='Julion' last='Daniels'], 6'1, 225, RB/DE, Santa Fe Trail, '26, he is coming off a good junior season as a running back on offense and a headhunter of an edge on the other side of the ball. He may be flying under the radar so far but not for long. On offense he is a bulldozer of a runner who blows through arm tackles and picks up big yardage after the initial hit. With his size and speed he is difficult to bring down in the open field and it usually requires multiple defenders. On defense he is a mauling, brawling force coming off the edge or as an aggressive outside linebacker. With his athleticism, powerful legs and heavy hands, he can get by blockers with finesse or hit them in the mouth and bull-rush right over the top. This guy is getting ready for a dominant season this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1597293' first='Logan' last='Gaither'] , 6'2, 215, FB/LB, Oxford, '27, a recent ankle injury playing basketball has slowed him down of late but before that he was already hard at the off-season grind getting ready for this fall. He is coming off a good season last year as a versatile two-way baller who can play multiple positions on offense and defense. As a running back he has size and powerful legs that he uses to jackhammer the ball between the tackles. Last year he showed his potential picking up 160 yards rushing on 31 carries for a 5+ yards per carry average and scored five touchdowns. On defense he is an aggressive defender who can play any of the linebacker positions, but is particularly effective as a ball buster of a middle linebacker. This guy is on the cusp of a breakout year in 2025.

In conclusion, get these guys on your watchlists as they are getting ready to take a big step this fall. And, as always, if you run across anyone flying under the radar give me a shout via DM on X. Keep grindin...
