It's still early but here we take a quick look at the NW's top 25 teams heading into next season. Over the years Washington's top teams have beaten Oregon's but not recently. Check it..

.O'Dea WA- The defending state champs went undefeated and return one of the top D lines in America. The Irish are 34-3 over the last three years and will be tough for anyone to beat.

.Sumner WA- The Spartans were clutch late in the playoffs, getting a 37-31 triple OT Semifinal win over Chiawana, followed by a 27-24 win over Camas in the title game. Their only loss came to Oregon 6A champ West Linn on the road 34-27.

.Eastside Catholic WA- Eastside is the real deal and could be the #1 or #2 team. UW commit [player_tooltip player_id='402799' first='Wassie' last='Lugolobi'] and the state's #1 prospect for 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='652796' first='Liufau' last='Loumoli'] give the Lancers an elite combo on D. They finished 10-2 last season with boss losses coming to O'Dea.

.Lake Oswego OR- It's a coin flip between LO and West Linn if we are talking on next year's top Oregon team. The Lakers return 6A POY LaMarcus Bell and top QB [player_tooltip player_id='402409' first='Hudson' last='Kurland'] along with numerous all conference starters and a few elite transfers.

.West Linn OR- For the first time maybe ever Oregon has consistently beaten Washington's top teams, with West Linn beating the WA state champ three years in a row. Lake Stevens twice and Sumner last year. It will be a younger group next season but just as talented.

.Gonzaga Prep WA- The Bullpups are coming off a 12-1 season where they lost by a TD to #1 ranked Camas in the Semi's. Spokane (GSL) is loaded next year, and Gonzaga Prep leads the way.

.Bellevue WA- Year in and year out the Wolverines are about as consistent as they come. That said as they graduate a host of D1 talent which will be tough to make up for. Look for [player_tooltip player_id='1128444' first='Max' last='Jones'] to go for 2000+ and 30 TDs and be a POY favorite.

.Central Catholic OR- This will be interesting. The Rams graduate some top talent and have had other highly ranked players transfer but they are still loaded. [player_tooltip player_id='402415' first='Killian' last='Sombe'] and [player_tooltip player_id='402427' first='Tyson' last='Davis'] are maybe the top RB duo in the NW.

.Kennedy Catholic WA- The sky's the limit for the Lancers. It wouldn't surprise me a bit to see them playing for a 4A state title. [player_tooltip player_id='402789' first='Derek' last='Colman-Brusa'] is one of the best DE's in the country and they will be ready to avenge their 6-point quarterfinal loss to Gonzaga Prep next season.

.Graham Kapowsin WA- GK was young last season but have the potential of being the NW's top program in the coming years. The close losses to 4A/3A state champs Sumner and O'Dea were respectable in 2024.
