Diamonds in the Rough- 2026s Set for Huge Seasons this Fall

Welcome to a new series of ours, Diamonds in the Rough!   We are checking out some of the state's gems, and this week, these 2026s really caught our eye   Coaches- you're going to want to check these guys out, these guys have been slept on for too long and deserve more eyes!    [player_tooltip player_id='1645177' first='Ahmod' last='Billins'] is a really talented ATH out of Abbeville who lined up and dominated at CB, WR, and QB last fall.   At QB, Billins is an explosive dual threat who can create huge plays with his arm and legs. He does really well under pressure, can make some seriously impressive throws on the run, and can keep it himself to go upfield for huge gains on the ground.   At WR, Billins is explosive and can beat DBs downfield, as well as take short/screen passes the distance by using his speed and twitch to make defenders miss after the catch. Billins is really impressive with the ball in his hands- he can go from 0-100 and quickly change his direction to outrun entire defenses.   At CB, Billins is incredibly physical and thrives in press man. He's great at jamming up WRs at the line of scrimmage and has the ball skills and hands to track and break up passes all around the field.   No matter where Billins lines up you can count on him being an explosive playmaker- he's picked up offers from Mercer, Tuskegee, and Air Force and is sure to have more to come.      [player_tooltip player_id='1645195' first='Keshaun' last='Jones'] is a talented DB/RB out of Colbert County who put together an impressive season last fall.   At 6'0 180, Jones has great size, instincts, and speed he uses to his advantage every snap- he can cover lots of ground and frequently makes sideline-to-sideline plays out in coverage and against the run.   Jones is incredibly reliable in coverage- he's patient, doesn't let WRs behind him, and is quick to react to QBs, consistently flying to WRs to break on the ball and rack up PBUs and INTs. Against the run, Jones is a great tackler who doesn't allow for any yardage after making first contact   Offensively, Jones can create explosive plays on the ground at RB- he has great vision and is really good at following his blockers to rack up as many yards as he can each carry.   Last fall Jones racked up 51 carries for 383 yards and 6 TDs on the ground, 6 receptions for 92 yards through the air, and 113 total tackles (72 solo, 6 for loss) and 7 PBUs.   Take a look at Jones's junior season below- he's a talented defender with a big senior season ahead.      Greg WIlliams is a really talented LB out of Auburn who was a huge piece of their highly successful defense last fall.   Williams is an every-down playmaker who can defend the run and pass extremely well.   Williams is excellent in pursuit- he is great at tracking and hustling to the ball regardless of where he lined up pre-snap, especially against the run. When defending the run, Williams does an excellent job filling in rushing lanes, fighting off blockers, and taking down the ball carrier right at or behind the line of scrimmage.   On passing downs, Williams brings the same level of impact- he's really reliable out in coverage, doesn't allow for easy catches. and can track and make plays on the ball using his hands.   Williams was really productive for Auburn's defense last fall, ending his junior year with 84 total tackles (42 solo, 10 for loss) and one INT.   Williams has started to see his name get out there in the recruiting world, earlier this offseason he picked up an offer from Alabama A&M. Be sure to check out his tape below, he's got a huge senior year ahead and deserves more eyes.      [player_tooltip player_id='1645215' first='Walker' last='Turner'] is a dominant LB out of Enterprise who put together a really productive junior season last fall.   At 6'2 216, Turner is quick on his feet, plays with great pursuit, and has a high football IQ that allows him to quickly recognize and disrupt plays every down. Turner is terrific at reading and making plays in pursuit- he takes great angles and has impressive closing speed he uses to rack up plays all around the field.   On top of that, Turner is really effective on passing downs- he constantly blitzes his way into the backfield to generate tons of pressure and has the ball skills out in coverage to track and break up passes as well.   Turner put up some impressive numbers last fall- ending his junior year with 136 total tackles (101 solo, 11 for loss), 6 sacks, 7 hurries, and 4 PBUs.   With production like that, teams at the next level have taken notice: Turner has picked up offers from Air Force, Samford, Northwestern State, and more!   Check out Turner's tape below and you'll see why, this Enterprise defense is shaped up to a top-tier unit with him leading the way this fall.      [player_tooltip player_id='1645242' first='JR' last='Mosley'] is a talented RB out of Hoover coming off a standout junior season last fall where he consistently carved up talented defenses on the ground all year.   Mosley is explosive out of Hoover's backfield- he has great vision, speed, and twitch that allow him to find rushing lanes at the line of scrimmage and break away in the open field. I'm really impressed with Mosley's quickness and acceleration, as soon as he turns the corner and starts heading upfield it's challenging for defenses to catch up and stop him.   Mosley is also productive on passing downs, he has a reliable set of hands, good skills after the catch, and was a great safety outlet for his quarterback all year long.   Mosley put together some impressive numbers last season, ending his junior year with 146 carries for 622 yards and 6 TDs on the ground, with another 5 receptions for 53 yards through the air.   Mosley is a name to watch this fall- he has a ton of talent and is set up to be a big part of Hoover's rushing attack, check out his tape from last year below and you'll see why.
