Of all the pass-catchers in Class 4A, Leonardo Tatum was by far the most explosive. Tatum finished last season with 741 receiving yards on only 27 catches and 11 touchdowns. His 27.4 yards per reception was the highest average in the class by over 7 yards, and that average also ranked as the highest overall yards-per-catch average among all Iowa WRs with 25+ receptions in 2024. Tatum is one of the most explosive deep threat receivers in all of Iowa, flashing his speed, sharp route-running, and his success as a motion-receiver for the Titans for much of last season. Tatum is a game-breaker, and his versatility for Lewis Central will be vital as they look to push to the state title game in 2025.

[player_tooltip player_id='1241527' first='Drew' last='Hobart'] has cemented his place as a shining star for Mason City. Hobart built off a solid sophomore campaign to finish with 787 yards on 50 catches and 6 touchdowns in 2024. Hobart shows impressive game speed and agility, being able to twist his body around to adjust and make difficult catches. Hobart's playmaking ability goes far beyond the passing game, as he's also one of the state's best return specialists, scoring 3 kick return touchdowns and averaging over 40 yards per kick return on 16 returns. Hobart is a difference-maker that Mason City will continue to build around as they look to obtain their first winning season since 2009.

[player_tooltip player_id='897440' first='Harrison' last='Mullens'] emerged in 2024 as a standout in Pella's passing game, playing a key role in Pella's unexpected run to the state title game this season. Mullens led the team with 610 receiving yards on 31 catches and 8 touchdowns. Off the snap, Mullens shows long, quick strides and does a great job bending on his routes, allowing him to win on his vertical routes both over the top and on the inside release. Mullens is exceptionally fast, having posted a 4.47 40 yard time, and boasts a lengthy wingspan to reach for the ball. Mullens holds intriguing potential in which his skills could very well translate into the collegiate level.

Returning to Lewis Central, 2024 saw the emergence of another very good WR for the Titans in [player_tooltip player_id='1619876' first='Peyton' last='Phippen']. Phippen finished with 673 yards on 47 catches and 5 touchdowns. Phippen is a sharp route runner who shows great timing and smooth cuts, which has made him the most trusted target for the Titans' passing game. Phippen is a good athlete with solid leaping ability, which helped him make several impressive catches last season going up for the ball. Phippen and Tatum have shown to be a formidable duo that can elevate the level of play for the Titans' offense going forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='283943' first='Eli' last='Robbins'] does almost everything for Norwalk, from catching to running to playing in the secondary to passing, Robbins has clearly established himself as one of the best overall athletes in Iowa. Robbins finished last season with 589 yards on 39 catches and 10 touchdowns. He also ran for 325 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground, averaging 6.8 yards per carry. Playing both in the slot and as an outside receiver, Robbins is a very agile athlete, showing quick hip movement and seamless flow changing direction on his routes. Robbins' is dangerous as a deep-threat, and once he's able to get behind the secondary, there is no way to stop him from making a big play. Robbins is a talented athlete who clearly holds all-purpose value for his team.

[player_tooltip player_id='1242964' first='Rylan' last='Richardson'] is a smaller athlete who's had quite a big presence playing for Storm Lake's productive passing unit. Richardson built off his sophomore debut as he finished with 601 yards on 42 catches and a team-high 9 touchdowns while adding 5 rushing touchdowns. An excellent slot receiver, Richardson is one of the most elusive and agile players on the field. Reliable as a short option, Richardson makes most of his production after the catch, being able to change directions on the fly both horizontally and vertically, being able to circle around the defense to find the end zone. Despite his size, Richardson is a big name to watch in Class 4A's loaded receiving group.

Though listed as a WR, [player_tooltip player_id='1619913' first='Finn' last='Martin'] played a significant portion of snaps as a TE last season. Martin was highly productive in this role, finishing with 637 yards on 35 catches and 4 touchdowns. Martin is a sneaky player who is productive on delay routes, getting open vertically and on checkdowns playing this style. Martin does a great job at tracking the ball and adjusting his route to come back for the ball, always looking to make a play for the team. Martin may not exactly be a college-level TE, but he's worth looking at as a viable pass-catching option.

The potential is there for [player_tooltip player_id='1619944' first='Noah' last='Milburn'] to make it big as a top-notch TE in Iowa for the class of 2026. Milburn finished last season with a team-high 427 yards on 25 catches and 6 touchdowns. Martin is a solid athlete with broad shoulders and great vertical ability. Milburn does a great job working with an expansive route tree despite playing on the line, being able to branch out his routes in different directions to stretch the defense, and he also provides as a solid blocker as well. If Milburn builds some more muscle this offseason to back up his frame, Milburn should solidify his spot as one of the best TEs in the state to watch next season.
