When it comes to Sunday's performances at the Carolina Coaches Combines event at Woodland, it's hard not to see how well the 2027s did collectively at the event.

Eleven of the top 20 players in terms of Catapult GPS' miles-per-hour measurements were in that class, and that list included six of the top eight fastest.

22.67 - [player_tooltip player_id='1215391' first='Jayven' last='Williams'] RB, Summerville

22.49 - Zane Williams WR, Fort Dorchester

22.48 - [player_tooltip player_id='1603740' first='Thaddeus' last='Czarnecki'] RB/LB, Hilton Head Island

22.31 - [player_tooltip player_id='1585670' first='Charles' last='Williams'] WR/DB, Bamberg-Ehrhardt

22.1 - [player_tooltip player_id='378969' first='Jaiden' last='Kelly-Murray'] ATH, Summerville

22.07 - [player_tooltip player_id='1422535' first='Jayvin' last='Risher'] ATH, Hampton County

In fact, all but three of the player who pinged north of 22 miles per hour were 2027s.

It was the tip of an iceberg that showed just how much talent in this crop. Between those players and a few others, the afternoon session at Woodland was very good for the rising junior class. Here are some extended observations from this group.

Noted: All GPS data is used with permission via Catapult Sports

SUSTAINING THE PUSH

Summerville's Williams and Kelly-Murray (pictured) didn't simply show some flash on a single sprint or two. Williams' 40 time of 4.45 was the best among all classes Sunday, while Kelly-Murray's 4.46 was second-best. Clearly from their mph marks (above), we knew they could fly.

What they both also did was sustain.

Kelly-Murray's sprint distance was a respectable 7.4 percent of his overall yardage total (especially given how active he was in the competition portion), while Williams was an even more impressive 11.4 percent.

What do those figures mean?

The short of it is that sprint distance calculates how much of the time a player was wearing the GPS unit that he was moving at increased speeds faster than a jog. It's a great indicator of overall effort, especially given how much down time there is in football between snaps, plays, drills or practice routines.

Here are a few others who jumped off the data pack in these terms:

12.9% - [player_tooltip player_id='1811126' first='Cole' last='Ivey'] RB, Academic Magnet

12.4% - Ja'Shon Williams TE, Hampton County

11.4% - [player_tooltip player_id='1422535' first='Jayvin' last='Risher'] ATH, Hampton County

10.1% - Jaden Hatcher RB, North Augusta

10.0% Brayden Harris LB, May River

9.8% - [player_tooltip player_id='1036774' first='Amare' last='Patterson'] WR, Beaufort

9.4% - Tony Cooper RB, May River

9.0% - [player_tooltip player_id='1644939' first='Keandre' last='Allen'] WR, Colleton County

8.4% - [player_tooltip player_id='1664511' first='Trenton' last='Summers'] RB, Hunter-Kinard-Tyler

BIG MAN COMPETITION

While Catapult wearable technology tends to give a better indication on skill positions, the eye test took over when it came to a trio of offensive linemen who appeared to be pushing each other.

The end result was a very good day for [player_tooltip player_id='1036776' first='Israel' last='Harris'] (James Island), Ty Johnson (Lucy Beckham) and [player_tooltip player_id='1271255' first='Hayden' last='Crockett'] (Hilton Head)

Harris (6-foot-1, 330 pounds) ripped off an impressive 30 reps on the 185-pound bench. Johnson (6-foot-5, 270 pounds) flashed an 82-inch wing span and an 80-inch broad jump and a sub-5.3 pro shuttle. Crockett (6-foot-2, 330 pounds) got to 23 on the bench 78 on the broad.

During the competition portion, those three all took turns showing off their collective strength and foot work.
