DORCHESTER | Sunday was a chance to be seen and heard with several coaches from across South Carolina on hand for the Carolinas Coaches Combine at Woodland High School.

The Class of 2026 guys were not only gauged in the measurables, but they were able to compete in one-on-one challenges against each other.

Here are some of our takeaways on the guys that stood out the most to us.

OFFENSIVE STANDOUTS

[player_tooltip player_id='1738867' first='Rodney' last='Wilder'] WR, Colleton County

Wilder might have had the catch of the morning when he adjusted his body with the ball in the air and made a diving catch just inside the sideline stripe. It showed his versatility and ability to make plays in the passing game. Wilder plays in a run-based attack so his numbers were limited in 2024. His Pro Shuttle (4.45) and 12 reps on the bench press were solid numbers for his position group.

[player_tooltip player_id='1578317' first='Nehemiah' last='Brown'] RB, Barnwell

Brown rushed for just north of 1,000 yards last season but he showed great hands at the combine. Barnwell will be breaking a new quarterback and Brown could easily become a safety valve in the passing attack as well as lead the ground game. His numbers at the combine were behind some of his fellow running backs but he flashed in the passing game and that caught our attention.

Toain Nabriat WR, North Augusta

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Nabriat flashed good numbers across the board – 4.73 in the 40, vertical (30.1), broad jump (30.1), and pro shuttle (4.43) but what made him stand out the most was his precise route running and ability to use his hands to make catches.

[player_tooltip player_id='816740' first='Marcus' last='Cann'] WR, Bamberg-Ehrhardt

Cann is another good-sized receiver (6-foot, 178 pounds) that showed great route running skills in the one-on-one portion of the combine. His 40 time came in at 4.79 and he had a broad jump of 109. He's going to be counted on to do a lot of things for the Red Raiders this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='402509' first='Trevor' last='Kalisz'] QB, Ashley Ridge

With only eight quarterbacks available during the morning session, we saw all of them throw a lot. Kalisz was on the high end for the vertical (34.4), broad jump (105) and pro shuttle (4.47) and threw a nice ball when the wide receivers were testing the defensive backs. His strong arm and mobility helped him throw for 3,560 yards and 33 TDs last season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1575461' first='Zach' last='Balog'] WR, Bishop England

Balog became a go-to receiver for the Bishops last season and one of the reasons is his ability to get the ball at its high point. He was a 1,000-yard receiver last season and could top that mark again. His pro shuttle (4.31) and 18 reps on the bench were tops among the wide receivers.

[player_tooltip player_id='617718' first='Kenshon' last='Speaks'] OL, Beaufort

Speaks is 6-foot-3 and 294 pounds with a wingspan of 83 inches. What that means is once he gets his hands in position, you might as well forget about getting away. He's quick for his size and able to handle the bigger defensive tackles or those on the small size and quicker. His development has him right where he needs to be entering his senior year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1320686' first='Lamareon' last='Thompson'] OL, Fort Dorchester

Thompson entered the one-on-one portion of the combine with an attitude that he had something to prove. The 6-foot-2, 319-pounder did just that by displaying a nasty streak and competing until the whistle blew. He moves well for his size as shown in the pro shuttle number of 5.5.

[player_tooltip player_id='1734558' first='Tyreon' last='Summerson'] OL, Woodland

Summerson had the honors of participating on his home field, so he felt comfortable. He checked in at 6-foot, 318 pounds and really shined in the one-on-one battles with the defensive linemen. He held his own in almost every rep and proved he belonged on the field with the group.

DEFENSIVE STANDOUTS

[player_tooltip player_id='1639818' first='Jordan' last='Wright'] DB, Fort Dorchester

Defensive backs were put on an island and Wright came away as impressive as anyone.
He was 5-foot-10, 158 pounds but had a 30.6 vertical and 104 broad jump on his side. He defended well and blanketed receivers and didn't give quarterbacks many chances to make throws when he was on the field.

[player_tooltip player_id='1196428' first='Jalen' last='McGraw'] LB, Bamberg-Ehrhardt

Thanks to a 40 time that came in at 4.69, the 6-foot-1, 184-pounds McGraw did a lot of things well. He has graded well in the vertical (30.4), the broad jump (109) and the pro shuttle (4.75). He covered backs and tight ends well and seemed to move from sideline-to-sideline with the best of them

[player_tooltip player_id='1395058' first='Chaz' last='Brown'] DL, Beaufort

Brown is undersized from most defensive linemen but he more than made up for it with his quickness as evident from the 4.72 he registered in the pro shuttle. He was difficult to block when the offensive line was trying to contain the rushers from getting to the quarterback. It was a small sample size but Brown could be intriguing to watch this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1639678' first='Gehad' last='Sneed'] LB, Berkeley

I overheard several Shrine Bowl and North-South coaches asking who was wearing the No. 120. That would be Sneed, the 5-foot-11, 198-pounder from Berkeley. He impressed in individual skill reps and looked the part going through the combine portion as well. Sneed is making the transition from running back and his upside is as good as anyone on the field Sunday morning.

Amir Knight LB, Stratford

Knight had some of the most impressive numbers of the day. The 6-foot-4, 192-pounder had a wingspan of 82.25, ran a 4.84 40 and added a 32.2 vertical and 117 broad jump. Add in his 4.47 pro shuttle and 16 reps on the bench press of 185 pounds and Knight was a big man moving at a quick pace. He finished with 68 tackles and an interception a season ago.

Aaron Adams DL, Midland Valley

Adams was another impressive lineman when he was going into individual drills against the offensive linemen. He measured 6-foot-4, 217 pounds with a 81.25 wingspan. The offensive linemen were having trouble getting leverage against him because of his length and a quick first-step that had him in the backfield rather quickly.

[player_tooltip player_id='1732589' first='Jamari' last='Blandin'] DB, Cane Bay

Blandin was one of the taller defensive backs at 5-11 and 156 pounds so that makes him an asset against taller receivers. He ran well in the 40 (4.72) and pro shuttle (4.75) and added a 31.5 vertical and 106 broad jump. He was able to face some tall receivers in the likes of [player_tooltip player_id='473021' first='Caden' last='Ramsey'] of Cross, and he more than held his own.

[player_tooltip player_id='1267287' first='Jordan' last='Ravenell'] DB, Summerville

Ravenell has transferred from Goose Creek to Summerville and he has a chance to shine in the Green Waves system. He will be inserted into a defense that loses several starters up front but Ravenell will have a spot in the secondary. He's 5-foot-9 and 177 pounds and plays with physical presence. He showed good hip movement in the one-on-one portion and covered bigger and smaller receivers just as easily.

Donte' Bell DB, North Augusta

Bell is not afraid of a challenge, and he wanted to face the biggest and the best on Sunday. He's 5-foot-7 but a compact 169 pounds that was able to bench 185 pounds 14 times, which was on the higher end for defensive backs. He also showed well in the pro shuttle (4.43) and ran a 4.85 40-yard dash.
