2027 SPRING RANKINGS UPDATE: Linebacker Breakdown

<p>We have officially released a new set of rankings for the class of 2027 in Arkansas. In this article, we will showcase the 2027 linebackers with analysis. Over the next month, I will break down these rankings by position in each class, including other segments. For the linebackers, I will provide you with evaluations of some of the top prospects and the players flying under the radar:</p>      <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='710707' first='Rae' last='Parson'] is someone to add to your recruiting board if you have yet to do it. He displays a sideline-to-sideline motor, allowing him to pursue and chase down ball carriers effectively. He stays square inside the box as he demonstrates good upper body strength and UOH to engage blocks, quickly shedding to make plays at the LOS. Additionally, he displays good read and react ability, lateral agility, and change of direction in zone coverage, enabling him to adjust and switch effectively. Gaines plays with solid recognition ability along with a quick first step, allowing him to attack downhill with a solid burst. He stays square at the POA. He has a good feel for zone coverage with solid lateral agility and COD. His potential is high, and he will definitely play at the next level. Smith is a strong zone defender, locking down underneath and creating a contest. He plays with a good motor, solid angles, and foot speed when in pursuit of the ball carrier. He possesses the size and displays a sideline-to-sideline motor that you want in pursuit. Moore displays a quick first step with solid read and react ability to make a play on the ball or force a PBU at the catch point. Woods demonstrates solid instincts and awareness when shooting the gap against the run, utilizing solid hand placement to create leverage and shed blocks while staying square.
