It's another beautiful Sunday for some Film Room breakdowns! I'm continuing coverage of the 2026 class by stepping into the film room to look at some prospects flying under the radar. This week, I'm moving over from Hall County to Buffalo County to check out some junior prospects.

The Bearcats have been a factory for talented linebackers recently, with junior [player_tooltip player_id='1644033' first='John' last='Florell'] looking like the next one in line. Even with a stacked LB group, Florell still managed to stand out with 64 tackles, five TFLs, a sack, and two interceptions. When watching John's junior tape, the main thing that stood out was the intensity that he brings to the field on every play which is what you love to see out of your 'backers. Florell displayed great gap play/integrity with footwork and square hips when scraping the line of scrimmage and a sharp trigger when he shoots his gap. His quick first step and great closing speed make him very effective at pursuing the ball while flashing great tackling when he gets to his spot. Florell does a great job playing with violent, active hands at the line of scrimmage, which helps him disengage from blocks. Solid frame at 6'2" and 200 pounds with room to continue filling out his frame when he gets to a college weight room. Great prospect to start watching!

The Bearcats pump out LBs, and the Stars always seem to have a few versatile two-way prospects on their roster. That's the case again with [player_tooltip player_id='922617' first='Atreyu' last='May'], who continues to take steps in his development after a great junior campaign. May showed off his versatile playmaking ability on both sides of the ball for the Stars, ending the year with 510 receiving yards, four receiving touchdowns, 76 tackles, and three interceptions. Atreyu is a slippery receiver who knows how to find and exploit the soft spots against zone coverage and has shown the route running ability to create separation from defenders playing man coverage. One overlooked part of May's game is his ability to create after the catch with solid speed and agility to evade defenders in the open field. Good concentration and hands when going through the catch process. Defensively, May plays with a high football IQ, allowing him to quickly diagnose plays and attack as soon as he keys run or pass. Nice physicality when fighting off perimeter blocks.

[player_tooltip player_id='1644286' first='Braedyn' last='Bergsten'] (RB/ATH), Amherst - 6'0" 200 lbs - (@BBergsten16473)

Amherst's [player_tooltip player_id='1644286' first='Braedyn' last='Bergsten'] is a player who I think will step up big-time for his team in 2025. Breadyn is an interesting prospect who projects as a running back but has the versatility to be moved across the formation to get him the ball in certain situations. In only six games last season, Braedyn posted 451 rushing yards, five touchdowns, and 155 receiving yards. He's a strong runner with a solid frame at 6'0" and 200 pounds that can absorb contact while maintaining his balance to keep trucking along. Bergsten isn't a super flashy runner, instead excelling as a north-south back who can hit a quick cut to bounce runs to the outside and has the acceleration to break away from defenses. Watch out for Braedyn when he gets moved to the slot because he flashes some strong hands and has the ability to make tough, contested catches.

[player_tooltip player_id='1624378' first='Brennan' last='Lindner'] (QB/ATH), Pleasanton - 6'0" 165 lbs - (@BrennanLindner)

Here's a deep sleeper to start paying attention to now! Pleasanton's [player_tooltip player_id='1624378' first='Brennan' last='Lindner'] had a breakout season in which he showed he could be a dual-threat QB and has huge upside on defense. On offense, Brennan got it done in the air and on the ground with 1,126 passing yards, 555 rushing yards, 15 passing touchdowns, and 12 rushing touchdowns. He does an effective job running RPOs with a good instinct for knowing when to hand off, run it himself, or find a passing option downfield. On regular dropbacks, Brennan showed good pocket presence and the ability to extend plays with his legs to give his receivers time to get open. Great athlete with the ball in his hands, displaying great vision to find cutback lanes and contact balance when battling through tackle attempts. Lindner was also a consistent playmaker on defense with 52 tackles, a whopping seven interceptions, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. Playing safety, Brennan displayed great instincts in coverage as he did an excellent job analyzing what the offense is doing and can quickly step into the box when he keys the run or read the QBs eyes and effectively break on the ball. He has great ball skills, as shown by his seven takeaways and three PBUs. Hidden gem prospect out of central Nebraska!

[player_tooltip player_id='1644291' first='Giovonni' last='Ramirez'] (DB), Gibbon

When looking through Gibbon's roster for a player to cover, I saw junior [player_tooltip player_id='1644291' first='Giovonni' last='Ramirez'] who seemed to play a key role on both offense and defense for the Buffaloes. During his junior season Ramirez recorded 13 receptions, 153 receiving yards, two touchdowns, 21 tackles, and two interceptions, showing his upside as a two-way player. Although I don't have tape to break down, I could still find a few games to watch some of Giovonni's reps where he displayed solid physicality in coverage and a good nose for playmaking. I look forward to seeing more from Giovonni's junior season.
