The Super Bowl is behind us and with it the last remnants of the 2024 football season. Last fall was enjoyable as usual but at the high school level it was a particularly exceptional year with numerous record-breaking achievements, timely performances from division-one playmakers, and providing the opportunity to check out some of the exciting emerging talent that we will be watching closely in the coming years.

The class of 2026 gets their opportunity to enter the arena for the last time in a few months and based on their collective play last fall, are more than ready to accept the challenge.

They will be pushed, and pushed hard, by the rising stars from the younger classes and when the two are violently thrown together like they will be, it all but guarantees a captivating season this fall.

In this report we are focusing on five two-way players, including a couple of guys getting ready for their final season later this year and then some up-and-coming playmakers from the other classes.

So, without further adieu, let's take a quick look at five multi-positional players who are already gearing up for this fall:

[player_tooltip player_id='1600233' first='Cooper' last='Glasscock'] , 5'9, 165, ATH, Goddard, '27, is a game-breaker getting ready to put on a show this fall. Last year he led the junior varsity to an 8-0 record, and put an exclamation point on it with 1,500+ all-purpose yards and 16 touchdowns. On offense he is used all over, as a wideout or in the slot, off the wing, or coming out of the backfield. He is electric in the open field and as a return man and is a threat to strike from anywhere. With his burst and acceleration, he blisters the perimeter on jet sweeps, options and reverses and is dangerous catching the ball out of the backfield. He can also play safety or corner on defense and is a ballhawk when the ball is in the air, but will aggressively collapse down and nail backs at the line of scrimmage. This guy is going to be en fuego this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1585530' first='Mason' last='Moaliitele'], 6'0, 210, RB/LB, Winfield, '27, is another two-way playmaker flying under the radar early but changed all that with a standout sophomore season for the Vikings. On offense he was a pounding running back who piled up 308 yards on 62 carries and scored four times. And, as good as he was on offense, he was even better on defense as a ball-buster of an all-conference linebacker with great read and react skills and closing speed. On the year he racked up 83 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, two sacks and a pair of fumble recoveries. He seemed to get better every game and late in the year had a two-game span when he piled up 30 tackles and a couple of tackles for loss. He is already laser focused on the off-season grind and is getting ready to go off in 2025.

[player_tooltip player_id='1542918' first='Jameson' last='Turner'], 6'1, 225, Edge/ATH, Eisenhower, '26, is coming off an excellent junior season that was a good warm up for the big season he is getting ready to have. He is a multi-positional player in the trenches but really shines as an edge rusher who jacks blockers in the jaw and shuts down the perimeter on his side. He has a powerful frame and is fast and explosive off the snap maintaining good pad level while fighting through traffic to the ball carrier. He has a good football IQ and his read and react abilities enable him to anticipate and get to the point of contact in a hurry. For the year he piled up 50+ tackles, a dozen tackles for loss, a sack and forced four fumbles. He is already deep into his off-season training getting ready for a big senior season. This guy is going to dominate this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1632848' first='Malachi' last='Hines'], 5'9, 165, DB/ATH, Wichita Southeast, '26, is coming off a solid junior season as a versatile three-way baller who is a playmaker on offense, a shut-down corner on defense and a dangerous return man on kicks and punts. On offense he can play as a receiver or running back and has the speed to break games open. On defense he has a high ceiling as a corner who can jam the wideout at the line, flip hips at the snap and then blanket the receiver on his route. He has next-level instincts and is quick to recognize formations and plays and attacks the ball in a flash. On the year he had 20+ tackles and picked off a pass. As a return man he is fast and fluid with blazing straight-line speed and acceleration that keeps defensive coordinators up at night. He is also a standout sprinter in track. He is going to burn it up in 2025.

[player_tooltip player_id='1632842' first='Jevreyar' last='Brown'], 5'8, 170, RB/DB, Shawnee Mission North, '28, and last but certainly not least we have a two-way baller getting ready to bust loose and have a big sophomore season this fall. Last year as a freshman he went scorched earth on the opposition and along the way piled up multiple 200+ yard games rushing and scoring multiple touchdowns in junior-varsity action. He is excellent on defense and as a return man but where he really makes a statement is as an all-purpose playmaker running back. With his quick feet, burst and low center of gravity he slips through traffic seamlessly and when he breaks free is a slippery, elusive scatback in the open field. He is already training for this fall and is getting ready to run sprints on the track team this spring. Get this guy on your watchlists, he is getting ready for a breakout season.

In conclusion, these guys are getting ready to make some noise this fall. Additionally, as always, if you know of any players or teams flying under the proverbial radar, please give me a shout via DM on X. Keep grindin'.
