Prep Redzone Maryland's Ed O'Brien evaluates the newcomers to the Class of 2026 prospect rankings. Today's article features wide receivers.

Note: These rankings include players from both Washington, D.C. and Delaware

CHECK OUT THE CLASS OF 2026 RANKINGS HERE

Chase Perry | Lingamore | 5-10 | 160 | MD

Position rank: No. 42
Chase Perry has a few skills that make him a dangerous playmaker on the outside. His most defining trait is his ability to manipulate defenders with sharp route-running and deceptive body movements. Perry's highlights show that he excels at selling double moves. He can get the defensive back to commit before accelerating past them by using shoulder fakes and slight directional shifts.

Perry's stop-and-go and slant-and-go routes are highly effective, as seen in multiple big-play receptions, including touchdowns of 55 and 30 yards. Another thing that impresses me about Perry is his ability to track the ball in the air and make over-the-shoulder catches in stride. He also demonstrates reasonable body control and concentration, making contested grabs even when defenders attempt to face-guard him.

However, there are some areas where Perry could improve. At 5-foot-10 and 160 pounds, his size could pose a challenge against more physical defensive backs, particularly in press coverage. I'd like to see how diverse his route tree is beyond the vertical routes. Expanding his ability to run crisp intermediate and short routes could make him a more complete receiver. Despite these areas for growth, Perry's explosiveness, route-running savvy, and ability to stretch the field make him a legitimate offensive weapon for his team.

[player_tooltip player_id='1611683' first='Kaijir' last='Kaiser'] | Dulaney | 5-9 | 160 | MD

Position rank: No. 37
[player_tooltip player_id='1611683' first='Kaijir' last='Kaiser'] is a versatile athlete who excels in multiple roles on the field. His ability to take direct snaps, run effective routes, and play in open space highlights his athleticism and playmaking skills. One of his key strengths is his ability to navigate through defenses, whether by avoiding jams at the line of scrimmage, adjusting to underthrown passes, or breaking tackles to extend plays.

Kaiser's agility and quickness are evident when he runs the football, making him a dangerous weapon in both designed runs and scramble situations. He is good at finding soft spots in zone coverage, which allows him to be a reliable target for his quarterback.

However, he will likely need to prove himself in college prospect camps to showcase his full skill set and demonstrate that he can run different routes. While he shows strong instincts and playmaking ability, refining his route running and expanding his role as a receiver could further enhance his chances of playing wide receiver at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1611682' first='Dom' last='Montebell'] | 5-9 | 160 | Appoqunimink | DE

Position rank: No. 39
[player_tooltip player_id='1611682' first='Dom' last='Montebell'] is an explosive slot receiver who thrives as a vertical threat and playmaker in open space. His straight-line speed stands out, allowing him to stretch the field and capitalize on blown coverages. Montebell clearly understands zone coverage, consistently finding openings and positioning himself for big plays.

Montebell's ability to high-point the ball, as seen in red-zone situations, shows solid ball-tracking skills and body control. He can be elusive in his highlights by making defenders miss and turning short catches into significant gains. There's no question that he's a legit vertical threat. He's small but quick, has good hands, is competitive, and knows how to get open. Working on refining his route running and continuing to get faster and stronger should be at the top of his "things to do" list this off-season.

Anthony Harris | 6-4 | 185 | Caesar Rodney | DE

Position rank: No. 35
Anthony Harris is an intriguing prospect with a strong combination of size (6-4 185) and versatility. He contributes to offense and defense. As a receiver, his frame allows him to be a reliable target in short and intermediate routes, where he effectively uses his body to shield defenders and secure catches. His ability to catch passes in stride and gain additional yards after the catch highlights his potential as a possession receiver.

On the flip side, his highlights suggest limited deep-threat plays, leaving questions about his ability to stretch the field consistently. While he has the physical tools to be a matchup problem, refining his route-running and expanding his route tree will be key to maximizing his potential. Increased reps as a pass-catcher, particularly in diverse route concepts, will help determine if he can be a more dynamic offensive weapon.

[player_tooltip player_id='1611603' first='Amauri' last='Patterson'] | 5-9 | 155 | Milford Mill | MD

Position rank: No. 31
[player_tooltip player_id='1611603' first='Amauri' last='Patterson'] is a playmaker with impressive agility, acceleration, and field vision. His ability to change speeds effortlessly and make defenders miss in open space makes him a difficult player to defend. His quick cuts and shifty running style allow him to create separation on routes and turn short plays into significant gains. He showcases playmaking ability, whether running deep routes, executing double moves, or working underneath on screens and drags. Patterson is on the smaller side of the scale at his position, so he'll have to continue to improve his quickness and route-running to compensate for his lack of size.

Other articles to read

Southern Maryland 2025 Season Players to Know - Part 1

Meet some of the IAC's offensive stars in the 2026 Class – Pt . 1

Maryland/D.C. 2027 prospects already on the radar – Pt. 1

Maryland/D.C. 2027 prospects already on the radar - Pt. 2

Maryland/D.C. 2027 prospects already on the radar – Pt. 3

2025 Season: Western Maryland Skill Players to Know – Part 1

Maryland 4A Football's Next Wave: 2026 Evaluations – Part 1

Maryland 4A Football's Next Wave: 2026 Evaluations – Part 2

Maryland 4A Football's Next Wave: 2026 Evaluations - Part 3

The Next Wave: Scouting MD/DC's 2026 class: Film Review Pt. 1

The Next Wave: Scouting MD/DC's 2026 class: Film Review Pt. 2

Scouting the ranked 2026 Maryland prospects: Running Backs
