The best thing about this NFL season is how running backs Saquon Barkley, Derrick Henry, Josh Jacobs, and Jahmyr Gibbs have provided a rebirth to the running back position.   For almost a decade it seems like the pro game has been all about quarterbacks and wideouts.   I grew up watching great backs Tony Dorsett, Herschel Walker, Bo Jackson, Walter Payton, Emmitt Smith, and Barry Sanders.   Hopefully, the running game resurgence will continue and these running backs in the Kansas Class of 2025, who have signed or committed to play with college programs, will be able to showcase their skills on Saturdays or even Sundays.   This is an interesting group of backs as many of the statistical rushing leaders in Kansas are still uncommitted. Several of these guys could play running back or could switch positions in college. He is headed South to play for the Gorillas.   [player_tooltip player_id='1306200' first='Ronelle' last='Slaughter'], RB, 6'0”, 195, Wichita East, '25 (Garden City CC)   Slaughter had back-to-back 600-plus yard rushing seasons. He is one of multiple backs that Garden City is bringing to campus.   [player_tooltip player_id='1453234' first='Xavier' last='Porras'], RB/DB, 5'11”, 180, Liberal, '25 (Garden City CC)   Porras rushed for 1,338 yards and 12 touchdowns for the Redskins. He is staying out west to play for the Broncbusters.   [player_tooltip player_id='1296536' first='Landin' last='Johnson'], RB, 5'10”, 175, Ellsworth, '25 (Garden City CC)   Johnson rushed for 1,391 yards and 16 touchdowns. He is headed to Garden City for his college ball. Looney is versatile and has plus speed. [player_tooltip player_id='1228451' first='Joey' last='Millspaugh'], RB, 6'0”, 180, Halstead, '25 (Friends)   Millspaugh rushed for 906 yards and seven touchdowns as a senior. He is headed to Wichita to play for Friends.   [player_tooltip player_id='988844' first='Gavin' last='Stambaugh'], RB/LB, 5'11”, 195, Smoky Valley, '25 (Bethel)   Stambaugh rushed for 1,229 yards and 15 touchdowns during his senior season for the Vikings. He rushed for 196 yards and two touchdowns last fall. [player_tooltip player_id='1618736' first='Cole' last='Mathes'], RB/LB, 6'2”, 195, Humboldt, '25 (Tabor)   Mathes rushed for 810  yards and eight touchdowns and committed to Tabor College.   [player_tooltip player_id='1618352' first='Xavier' last='Harmon'], RB/LB, 5'11”, 195, Lansing, '25 (Missouri Valley)   The Lansing prospect is committed to playing for NAIA program Missouri Valley.   [player_tooltip player_id='1366497' first='Ayden' last='Rebant'], RB, 5'9”, 165, Atchison, '25 (Buena Vista)   Rebant's stats won't jump out at you, but his speed has caught the attention of the Buena Vista coaching staff.
