Prep Redzone WI 2027 Rankings Update
The wait is over! The Class of 2027 Rankings Update is complete! What a group this is turning into. We started with 109 ranked athletes and thanks to player, parent, and coach submissions, along with our own discovery of athletes, have pushed the number to 223 ranked athletes. Thank you all for the submissions and helping us make sure we are shining the spotlight on as many of WI's best athletes as we can!
Before we dive into the rankings, the #1 thing to remember when viewing them is that a lot is going to change. You will see a lot of movement from the previous rankings because of physical growth from players along with much improved strength and technique on tape. This is where the player is viewed now. There are years ahead of us for more student athletes to be added and for current athletes to move up and down the list. So keep putting in the work from here because this Class is looking like a group that is going to join other recent groups with 20+ athletes who end up on D1 rosters.
Let's look at a few fun facts about this list. The first big takeaway is the Class of 2027 is going to carry the tradition of having massive, talented offensive linemen. Half of the Top 10 comes from that position. Speaking of that size, 11 of the Top 20 athletes are 6'5" or taller. This Class is also following in the footsteps of the Class of 2026 at the QB position. The new update shows three signal callers inside the Top 20. Three athletes that have the arm talent and frame to be D1 athletes if they can continue to develop their game year over year. Another interesting takeaway is that we don't have one position dominating the very top. For the first time in all the years that I have done this, the Top 4 overall players all play different positions primarily. All four of those athletes also already hold Power 4 offers.
