We dive into some positional breakdowns on some of South Dakota's best athletes within the 2026 class. Each one of these young men has an excellent shot to intrigue some college coaches this summer in my eyes with their upside, position flexibility, and verified track speed.

[player_tooltip player_id='771526' first='Joey' last='Dallmann'], Aberdeen Central Twitter

The 6'0 220 pounder out of Aberdeen Central, impacts ALL three levels for the Golden Eagles. Joey isn't one you want to tackle in the open field, as I have seen in person the durable physicality this young man plays with on every rep at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcases. If I were grading Joey at the next-level, I surely like the fit at linebacker as he plays with a game-speed that amps up quickly with his agile first step, great vision and you can tell one that has the football IQ you would want on your next level roster. If you are looking for a blue-collar athlete, Joey is a great scholarship fit in my eyes.

[player_tooltip player_id='1236461' first='Gavin' last='Hammrich'], Sioux Falls O'Gorman Twitter

Gavin is one I like as a probable stockriser this summer as college coaches are going to be intrigued with the 6'3 205 pound frame and the position flexibility too. From an athlete perspective, really like how quick this young man's burst amps up to its fullest in the open field and it appears too he carries the finished speed you want as a more sizable back in the Knights backfield. Gavin also has appealing vision in tight tackle windows, as its impressive how fluid he is too with his change of direction for that size. Any way you draw it up, Gavin shows to be a constant pain in the rear to tackle either in the backfield or out on his routes and is an athlete that I like the upside to rise this summer once college coaches get his testing numbers in person as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='929921' first='Stetson' last='Riggs'], Hanson Twitter

Stetson is a 2026 athlete out of Hanson, that I will put on the "kick myself" list as one I certainly will have to move higher by next 2026 rankings update, as a small school hidden gem to know before summer. The 5'10 190 pounder, shows much more wirey movement than you would expect for that size and that I will surely say plays well bigger on tape than his measurables might show you. Giving Stetson a free pass rush lane is a disservice to your offense, as this young man also plays with an intriguing motor and fluidity and it's seen on both sides of the ball watching his junior tape. If I were recruiting right up the road at DWU, I would keep growing that Hanson pipeline with Stetson.

[player_tooltip player_id='848978' first='Jake' last='Spronk'], Sioux Falls Christian Twitter

The 6'1 210 pounder from Sioux Falls Christian, is yet another stud that comes out of this loaded 2026 class of Chargers. Jake's first look on tape at middle linebacker, shows off what I would personally call teach tape, as he hits the A-gap like a bat out of know you what as you can tell his twitch off the snap has some great agility and physicality you want at middle linebacker on contact. Jake also has the fighting strength to get off blocks, and I could even tell there is upside that a college coach is going to be able to grow with the violence he has by growing the pursuit angles and pad-levels. Jake played some tight end, but surely needs I see a great fit at linebacker when it comes to nexxt-level

[player_tooltip player_id='670029' first='Lincoln' last='LeBrun'], Dell Rapids St. Mary Twitter

Lincoln was a linebacker that during camp season last summer, showed off the great finesse and physicality he plays with during 1v1s at the Northern State prospect camp. The 5'11 185 pounder from Dell Rapids St. Mary, shows off great fluidity and vision getting to the open field and even last summer plays bigger than the measurables you see. He shows off the balance that intrigues me in the backfield, with a sound mix of change of direction, durability to run thru contact, and a persistent downhill presence that intrigues us. The sideline to sideline presence also comes out for Lincoln at linebacker as the self-reported 4.3 shuttle certainly could check the box based on what I saw on tape. Love the overall versatility that Lincoln brings on both sides of the ball for the Cardinals as a next-level prospect in my eyes.

[player_tooltip player_id='563992' first='Tayvin' last='Laddusaw'], ATH, Sioux Falls Washington Twitter

Visually when you look at Tayvin on both sides of the ball, you can tell that this kid plays with an intriguing football IQ that I could see tapping deeper into his upside into his senior season for the Sioux Falls Washington Warriors. Tayvin shows off the good read steps to get to the ball quickly and can develop this offseason with his agile movement and increasing his finesse with contact on the ball carrier. The 6'2 190 pounder is one that I like as a senior bloomer into summer camps and the 2025 season.

[player_tooltip player_id='673146' first='Mikey' last='Roche'], ATH, Sioux Falls Lincoln Twitter

Mikey is easily one of the fastest athletes in this position breakdown, with a verified 10.77 100-meter dash as yet another Patriot that intrigues me a lot with his speed. Watching Mikey as a route-runner, you can tell quickly he knows where to attack the safety over the top and has some of the fastest catch and release speed in the state of South Dakota and possibly in all of the Dakotas. His seperation ability is consistently huge as he shows off plenty of finish in every route I see on tape. I beleive Mikey is one that will open some eyes this summer on the camp trail.
