As more current eighth graders are starting to post film and get social media accounts started, more and more prospects are starting to emerge. Below are five 2029 WRs who had a great youth career and a standout 2024 season, in particular. Here's a look at some standout Wide Receivers that I'm writing about for the first time.

Fast, sure-handed and extremely talented are just three of the ways to describe Verona's [player_tooltip player_id='1629396' first='Anthony' last='Palma']. On film, the multi-sport athlete was the most impressive offensive player I saw on an Eagles team that won the West Essex Jr. Football League Championship in 2024. Primarily lined up in the slot, they did move Palma around in situations to get him some rushing attempts. In addition to his offensive output, Palma was also a dangerous return man that could take the ball to the house at any time on Special Teams. Not to be glossed over, Palma also lined up at Outside Linebacker and made his presence felt against both the run and the pass.

To my knowledge, Jenkins was the lone prospect from the Norwood Raiders Senior Team to be selected to the Bergen County Junior Football League (BCJFL) All-Star Game in 2024. In a league with weight restrictions at position groups, Jenkins was one of the biggest WR's in the entire league and used his size to his advantage throughout the season. Between high-pointing 50/50 balls, using his size and strength to box out Defensive Backs and then having the ability to run away from the competition, Jenkins was head and shoulders (literally and figuratively) above the majority of players on the field with him this past year.

To say that it was a challenging year for the Wanaque football program would be a bit of an understatement, as the Warriors went winless (0-9) and finished in the basement of the Tri County Youth Football League. In the weighted league, there are restrictions for which positions kids can play-for that, Coll and his increasing size didn't get in a full season. However, in the film I was able to see, the lone bright spot on the team was the play of Tight End/Wide Receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1629383' first='Bryce' last='Coll']. Coll is listed on Hudl at 6-foot-1 and 160-pounds but looks thicker and heavier than that. Also a basketball player, Coll is a thick, muscular kid who was simply more physical and a better athlete than a lot of the smaller DBs tasked with stopping him.

The Hillsborough Raiders A Team captured the New Jersey Suburban Youth Football League (NJSYFL) American Division in 2024 and had a number of key contributors. One of the key contributors on the squad was [player_tooltip player_id='1628269' first='Logan' last='Jankowicz'] who occasionally took handoffs but was also one of the main targets on the outside as a Wide Receiver. He's a physically impressive prospect that also played Linebacker on the defensive side of the ball

As I was literally starting Lenney's writeup today, he informed me that he's opting to go the private school route and will be off to Seton Hall Prep for high school in the fall. As was the case with Wanaque's [player_tooltip player_id='1629383' first='Bryce' last='Coll'] (listed above) Lenney was a bright spot on a Twin Boro Bears team that finished in the basement of the Freedom Conference of the Morris County Football Youth League (MCYFL). He and Quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1402714' first='AJ' last='MacCracken'] made a formidable combination and had the ability to make some big plays happen, there just wasn't enough fire power to go around. At 5-foot-10 and 145-pounds he has above average size right now and enough speed to standout on the youth level. Continued sharpening of his route running will only help him as he moves on to high school ball.
