New 2028 Rankings: Getting to Know Prospects 21-30

Here are the prospects No. 21-30:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1613676' first='Saul' last='Contreras'], Chaparral</strong>: Chaparral's comeback season was marked by exceptional performances by many young players. One of them is the 5-foot-11, 175-pound Contreras, who had 42 tackles for the varsity.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1597499' first='Jaydon' last='Kraft'], Centennial</strong>: Is Kraft the next great QB in southern New Mexico? His 2024 season highlight film screams immense potential. He has good size and a strong throwing arm. Power 5 school have taken notice. Kraft has already visited SMU and Arizona State.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1613441' first='Matthew' last='Rodriguez'], Eldorado</strong>: Possessing good size (5-10, 200 pounds) and speed, Rodriguez contributed to Eldorado's ground game in 2024. He'll get a lot more carries in 2025.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1613262' first='Devin' last='Ortiz'], Moriarty</strong>: Ortiz was a two-way player for Moriarty in 2024. He quarterbacked the offense and rushed for 6 TD while also playing defense with 61 tackles, 5.0 TFL and 2 sacks. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1613594' first='Diego' last='Maez'], Robertson</strong>: Played both ways for the Cardinals. Caught 13 passes for 251 yards, an impressive average of 19.3 yards per catch. Also made 22 tackles with FIVE interceptions on defense. One of the top young players in Class 3A.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1613680' first='Damian' last='Herrera'], Chaparral</strong>: The Lobos defense in 2024 featured several young standout players, Herrera had 39 tackles.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1613470' first='Rylan' last='Thackerson'], Moriarty</strong>: Another two-way player who excelled on defense with 25 tackles and 1 TFL.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1613261' first='Quintin' last='Barela'], Estancia</strong>: Early signs point to Barella becoming a dynamic dual threat QB for the Bears. He quarterbacked the offense in 2024 and passed for close to 250 yards and contributed to a balanced rushing attack. &nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1613495' first='Colt' last='Ayon'], Raton</strong>: Made 30 tackles on defense for the Tigers in 2024.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1606533' first='Benny' last='Trujillo'], Espanola Valley</strong>: Espanola Valley reached the Class 4A semifinals with a powerful rushing attack and physical, hard-hitting defense that backed down to no one.
