Film Review: 2029 Defensive Backs AZ, IN, MD, MI, TX

Mattix is disciplined with his eyes and feet, causing a lot of breakups and frustration when receivers try to extend away from their bodies for catches. On the football field, you can find him making plays on the defensive side of the ball in the secondary. He has ideal length and the consistency to make tackles in space. Micah also owns a nice pair of hands that serve him well on both sides of the football. He closes the gap on ball carriers quickly, cutting off the field to secure tackles. His ball skills are top-notch, and he has the stats to back it up. He has a couple of pick-six plays and interceptions to put some respect on his name. Once the ball is in his hands, he can actually do something with it during the return. He is built like a cover corner but will come downhill to keep the ball contained. I like the way he high-points the ball thrown his way and deflects it if he can't come down with it. He transitions out of his stance well and stays in the hip pocket of receivers who run routes effectively.
