He is a fluid and controlled route runner who can break quickly and create separation due to his good change of direction, balance, and burst. He has a quick release due to his good acceleration and foot quickness. Steen is an exceptional vertical threat who can attract attention and create opportunities across the field. He runs smooth routes with solid breaks at the stem, allowing him to create separation from defenders. He is a vertical threat who can stretch the field with his 4.49 foot speed. As a fluid and controlled route runner, he becomes especially dangerous after the catch due to his good change of direction, balance, lateral agility, and upfield burst. He is adept at making defenders miss and possesses good contact balance. Impressive contortion ability, body control with good hand-eye coordination, strong hands, and ball tracking to track in over-the-shoulder passes, adjust mid-route or catch vs contest.
