This past Sunday, our Prep Redzone Stock Up Showcase tour made a stop in Elizabethtown, KY. It was a great camp with a ton of talent on display from the classes of 2025-28. However, some players did stand out above the rest and I have been taking the past week to highlight those top performers at each position. After already covering the offensive side of the ball, I have now turned my attention to the defensive side of the ball. With the defensive line and linebackers already taken care of, here are the top defensive backs who caught my attention at Sunday's camp.

[player_tooltip player_id='401927' first='Steron' last='Davidson'] separated himself from the competition yet again at Sunday's camp, winning his second DB MVP award at one of our Prep Redzone camps. Davidson was very impressive in man coverage during the competition part of the camp, showing the ability to open up and run with receivers to mirror their routes, staying in their hip pocket the whole way. When the ball was thrown his way, he showed the ability to react with perfect timing to break up the pass. Davidson currently holds an offer from Eastern Kentucky and I can see more coming his way heading into his senior year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1089873' first='Andrew' last='Davis'] is a young defensive back who quickly caught my attention on Sunday. He was dominant during the 1v1 competition. Davis played with a ton of physicality, showing the ability to jam receivers at the beginning of their routes with ease. He did a great job of continuing to run with them to mirror their routes and when the ball was thrown his way, he was able to fight across the receivers face to make a play. Andrew should be a player to keep an eye on over the next few seasons as he continues to develop.

[player_tooltip player_id='953600' first='Kyle' last='Sledge Jr.'] is a player who caught my attention as a freshman and continued to stand out on Sunday. He was very impressive during position drills, showing quick footwork and the ability to change direction with ease. Sledge also stood out during the 1v1 competition, showing the speed to mirror receivers' routes and awareness to break on the ball with perfect timing to make a play. Kyle is a player who college coaches should definitely keep a close eye on over the next few seasons.

The final defensive back who stood out to me at Sunday's camp was [player_tooltip player_id='1596532' first='Elijah' last='Burns-Crump']. Elijah first stood out to me during the testing portion of the camp, showing impressive lateral movement and change of direction. He posted some of the best times in the entire camp in both the shuttle and L-Cone drills. Elijah also impressed during the 1v1 competition, showing the ability to open up quickly while staying in the receiver's hip pocket to mirror their routes. When the ball was thrown his way, he did a great job of timing the pass perfectly to break in front of the receiver to make a play. Burns-Crump should be an intriguing prospect to keep an eye on heading into his junior year.
