Updated 2027 Rankings: Fastest Stock Risers

Carpenter is 6-foot-5, so he has the size many college coaches crave in their QBs. By this time next year, Carpenter could be a major college prospect.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1248663' first='Colton' last='McKibben'], Carlsbad</strong>: The 6-foot-3, 215-pound McKibben has rocketed to the coveted No. 1 spot following a sensational sophomore season (95 tackles, 11.5 TFL, 2.5 sacks, 1 INT) that has resulted in his recruiting stock rising dramatically nationally. Within the last week he has been offered by Nebraska, Iowa State, New Mexico State, Wisconsin and Arizona State.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1155116' first='Jahari' last='Morehead'], Eldorado</strong>: &nbsp;Earned his promotion by emerging as one of the top young wide receivers and kick returners in the state, notably the latter. In 2024, he returned 3 punt returns and 2 kickoffs for touchdowns. He's a threat to score whenever he has the ball in his hands. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1154954' first='Hershul' last='Olloway'], St. Pius X</strong>: We first learned about Olloway's blazing speed at the Prep Redzone Combine in Grants last April when he ran 4.4 in the 40. He relied on that speed during the regular season to rush for over 1,700 yards and 21 TD. He eclipsed 100 yards 8 times and averaged 131.1 yards per game. With Carpenter, Olloway and others, the St. Pius X offense has the potential to be lethal in 2025. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1155310' first='Fernando' last='Prieto'], Dexter</strong>: Prieto emerged as one of the top young defensive linemen in the state in 2024. He helped lead Dexter to the Class 3A state championship game by making 91 tackles, 15.0 TFL, 11 sacks and 2 QB hurries.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1155114' first='Deon' last='Session'], Atrisco Heritage</strong>: After a promising freshman season for the Jaguars, Session caught 28 passes for 692 yards and 6 TD. That's over 25 yards per reception, so he's a dynamic playmaker capable of stretching defenses.
