Greer demonstrates strong spatial awareness in zone defenses, maintaining discipline during scramble drills. His tackling is a notable strength, characterized by solid impact speed. At the safety position, he possesses good instincts and anticipates quarterback releases effectively.</p>   <p>Over his high school career, Greer has played in 19 games, recording 49 solo tackles and 37 assisted tackles, totaling 86 tackles. He has also achieved 2 interceptions, 4 pass deflections, and 1 fumble recovery. </p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Detario Scott | Linebacker | Oxford</h2>   <p>Detario Scott is a 5'10”, 195-pound defensive end and linebacker who is recognized as a tenacious edge defender with a quick release off the snap, swift footwork, and the ability to change direction effectively when tracking ball carriers in the backfield. Scott demonstrates significant strength, enabling him to work through holding attempts and maintain solid angles to secure tackles for loss. His “sneaky” strength allows him to hold his own in interior, short-yardage situations.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='1402472' first='Dentravius' last='Woods'] | Defensive Back | Southaven</h2>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1402472' first='Dentravius' last='Woods'] is a 5'8”, 175-pound defensive back who is recognized as a solid all-around defender, exhibiting quick footwork and form in man-to-man coverages, as well as high football IQ and spatial awareness in zone defenses. Woods demonstrates impressive gap-shooting ability and speed in run defense, showcasing good quickness and a high motor. He also displays excellent closing speed in the backfield and keen awareness in coverage, effectively deciding when to engage quarterbacks during scrambles.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Cornelius Caraway | Running Back | Ridgeland</h2>   <p>Cornelius Caraway, standing at 5'10” and 170-pounds, is known for his twitchy, quick running style between the tackles. He exhibits exceptional quickness in confined spaces, often turning minimal gains into significant yardage. A tough runner, he produces substantial yardage after initial contact and displays explosive cuts to misdirect defenders.</p>   <p>In the 2024 season, Caraway was recognized as a 1st Team All-State player in Region 2 6A, underscoring his significant impact on the field. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/corneliuscway/status/1875345783383584836?s=61 </div></figure>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='1133046' first='Jaylen' last='Johnson'] | ATH | Ridgeland </h2>   <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1133046' first='Jaylen' last='Johnson'] a 5'9”, 155-pound athlete, demonstrates solid agility and body control after and during the catch, with a composed game across all facets. He exhibits toughness across the middle field, effectively absorbing hits while securing receptions. His route running is fluid, featuring impressive breaks and quickness. </p>   <p>Defensively, he showcases quick backpedal skills, swift hips, and effective hand jams in coverage. Johnson has good spatial awareness in zone coverages and is smart and not overly aggressive in scramble drills. His tackling is a strength, with solid hit speeds, and he has good instincts at the safety position, making solid jumps at the point the quarterback begins their release. </p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Tyler Leggette | ATH | Olive Branch</h2>   <p>Tyler Leggette (5-11, 180) is a solid and versatile safety with skills that also translate well to the nickel position. He displays an impressive backpedal and great awareness when patrolling the deep parts of the field. His explosive movements and fluid hip transitions stand out, particularly in his ability to change direction quickly and track the ball. Leggette's abilities allow him to effectively play man coverage, and his open-field tackling is top-notch, showcasing excellent foundational skills.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/_tylerleggette/status/1849909767831228814?s=61 </div></figure>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Damien Salter | Running Back | Ridgeland</h2>   <p>Damien Salter (5-10, 165) runs a 4.48 40 and has exceptional agility, particularly in the box when surrounded by multiple defenders. His change of direction speed is remarkable, allowing him to turn short runs into significant gains. His ability to transform 4-yard runs up the middle into 30-plus yard runs is a testament to his vision and natural feel for the game. He has elite quickness and acceleration off the snap, making it nearly impossible to run an outside blocking scheme to his side. His solid footwork in coverage is paired with great anticipation. </p>   <p>Offensively, Mikel has the ability to hit top-end speed quickly and exhibits a strong running style in the open field. He also displays a burst of elusiveness when facing slower-footed linebackers, especially when running up the middle.<br></p>
