Southeast Elite Junior Bowl Standouts

My goal is to watch at least the 1st half of every post season All Star game in the State over the next week, always on the look out for the under the radar recruits. He had good command of the offensive and did a great job directing traffic on the run. The 1st Team All Paulding County DB had 2 interceptions in the half and added a couple of tackles with a QBH. He also delivered a big hit forcing a fumble. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Outlook</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Doyle had a breakout Junior season, earning All Region and All County honors. Strong compact DB that is a physical tackler. He does a good job at tracking the ball and has the athletic ability to make plays vs taller WRs. I was impressed with his route running. Several times he shook defenders off with a double move and got open for big gain. Newsome led Statesboro this past Fall in total receptions (34) with 2 TDs. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Outlook</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Newsome has good speed and has been timed at 4.5. He has good hands and is a sure fire target from the slot. He contributed a couple of solid tackles, a TFL and a sack during the 1st half. The Honorable Mention All Region LB from Hart County is a solid built kid with a nose for the football. Active LB with the ability to drop back in coverage. He had a solid Junior season at Mt. Paran with 74 TT with 7 TFL and broke up a couple of passes. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Outlook</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Hollis has the ability to play at the next level, especially at a school offering an academic package. He stepped up and made a couple of nice tackles and picked off a pass when he dropped back in coverage. He showed good instincts and great reaction time, hard nosed guy. Recorded 61 TT with 19 TFL this past Fall for Northwest Whitefield and added 6 sacks, 2 FF and an Int for the Bruins. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Outlook</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Amos is a producer at the high school level and has the natural instincts at LB to get some looks next season. He had 17 TT in the Title game and had some of the hardest hits this weekend. A head hunter with good speed that can lower the boom. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Outlook</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Sampson made a name for himself in the Benz where he was named to the All Title team. Has great instincts and natural athletic ability and is one of the best fundamental tacklers I have seen this season. He looks the part off the bus at 6'3 315 and is intimidating in pads. He did a good job at the RT spot in last weeks game with the Maroon team only giving up 1 sack in the 1st Half. Has a great leg off the tee and is and outstanding punter with good hang time and distance. He was recently named 1st Team All State punter by the AJC in the AAA class. He connected on a 52-yd FG this Fall and averaged over 41 yards per punt.
