PRZ Orlando: Brown Leads DB Performers
In this article:
ORLANDO – With several athletes, parents and coaches still talking about last Sunday's Prep Redzone Florida Stock Up Showcase event at Boone High School, we end our defensive coverage today with a look at some of the secondary standouts.
With so many receivers and running backs on hand, defensive backs were tested with lower numbers, but certainly not short on talent.
With colleges coaches on hand to teach and evaluate, there was plenty of work in the three hours for those were cornerbacks, safety and even athletes who more than received their share of reps during the one-on-one competition.
While the Nature Coast region of Florida doesn't always get the spotlight it deserves, teams such as Trinity Mitchell and Wesley Chapel Wiregrass Ranch continue to have the rest of the state look to the north of Tampa to discover some quality talent.
One of the prospects who came to the showcase and stole the show was New Port Richey Gulf 2026 performer
Cornelius Brown

. The receiver/cornerback, who posted some quality numbers during the testing portion of the event, also stepped up in the secondary and came away with the MVP award for his play during drills and one-on-one competition.
Brown (6-1, 150) had plenty of reps during the event with so many receivers on hand. He certainly put himself on the map with that kind of performance.
He certainly thrust himself into the spotlight with statewide media and recruiting analysts having plenty of time to watch.
2026 – Jahmani Chin-Suer, 5-10, 160, Sunrise Piper. Coming off one of their best seasons in decades, the Bengals relied on talent like this – and he showed why colleges will have plenty to look at once spring gets under way in a few months. While he also participates in the track & field program, he gets it done in the classroom as well with a 4.0 GPA.

, 6-1, 180, Tampa Chamberlain. Coming to showcase as an athlete, here is yet another prospect who also helped his stock in the secondary – much like he did this past season for the Chiefs. Solid testing and work during the drills had coaches and fellow campers watching. Holds down a 3.7 GPA and also shows his athleticism on the baseball field.
2025 - Eddie Love Jr. Eddie Love Jr. 5'9" | 180 lbs | RB Niceville | 2025 State FL , 5-9, 184, Navarre. Even though he was one of the top running backs the past few years in the Panhandle, here is another prospect that showed his versatility – and while college coaches have been impressed with what he brings to the table – the coaches on Sunday like what they saw. Committed early on to East Carolina University.

, 5-9, 180, Lake Mary. Coming from two-time state champion Oviedo The Master's Academy, here is a talented football player who brings so much to the Rams. He could play several (CB/RB/Special Teams) positions and that will be huge for a program that is reloading and making another run at the state title game.

, CB/SS, 5-11, 155, Davie Nova. Making his way up from south Florida, this is another football prospect that is on the rise – and coming off a winning season in 2024 – you can guarantee that he will continue to do what he did on Sunday – with testing, drills and competition. Coming from a school like Nova, you know his grades (3.2 GPA) will open doors as well.
