Today, I'm looking at the next wave of talent in the Lone Star State. These guys flashed big-time ability on tape but are still flying under the radar right now. Look for them to be on college coaches' radars very soon. This offseason will be crucial not only to their development but also to their recruitment. I think this group of guys is just getting started.

TE: [player_tooltip player_id='1586227' first='Sloan' last='Blackwell'], 6'4" 210, Lorena

Sloan has a good-looking frame that he should easily pack weight onto. He's a natural hands catcher, with excellent concentration through contact, and is a physical runner after the catch. He's a smooth route runner for a guy his size and uses his size as a weapon to box out much smaller defenders.

WR: Ryan James, 5'10" 160, McKinney

An explosive route runner who can make a defender drop to the floor on called double moves. He's got the speed to track down deep shot throws, he has plenty of shake to make defenders miss, and can go up & adjust his body midflight for tough back-shoulder throws.

WR: EJ Harris, 5'10" 165, DeSoto

Harris has the quickness to beat press man, he gets friendly to his quarterback on the scramble drill and is tough to bring down with the ball in his hands. He barrels through arm tackle attempts, he loves contact,, and can run through you or around you. I'm looking forward to seeing how he transitions to the varsity level.

RB: Craig Harding, 5'9" 165, West Brook

Harding was extremely productive on both sides of the football, but I think he's at his best as a running back on offense. He's a slasher with vision, balance, and filthy change of direction. He's patient, allowing his blocks to set up, has the speed to get to the edge & cause havoc, and can stick his foot in the dirt and get into top gear in the blink of an eye.

DB: Le'Keith Tyler Jr, 5'10" 150, Hitchcock

A lockdown corner comfortable left on an island and has the speed to run with fast wideouts. He does a good job leaning & locating the football, he shows compact breaks and excellent anticipation. He's got the body control to come up and tackle in space and shows a firm off-hand jam in press.
