Leading up to the complete, 400-player list on Thursday, we will count down the top 50 in more detail.

And make sure to check back following the release for additional features and notes on the 2025 cohort, including looks at debuts, stock-risers and the highest-ranking unsigned seniors.

30. [player_tooltip player_id='710072' first='D'Shaun' last='Ford'] — 5-11, 200 RB — Opelousas

The hard-running, one-cut back improved upon his already-hefty junior numbers to rack up a combined 4,000 yards his final two seasons of high school. Ford was one of the first members of Louisiana's loaded 2025 running class to pop out as an underclassman, but now appears to have become one of the more undervalued recruits of the bunch. His physical running — often through and over defenders — remains his calling-card, particularly in the Tigers' scheme, but he has shown breakaway speed in the open field and has worked throughout his career on rounding out his elusiveness and receiving skillset.

29. [player_tooltip player_id='144898' first='Tre' last='Fuller'] — 6-2, 180 DB — Captain Shreve

The Gators' safety is the top-ranked uncommitted or unsigned prospects remaining in Louisiana's 2025 senior class. The long, lean athlete has been recruited by a long list of Division-I programs during his high school career, but saw that process stall some as he work through injuries. Fuller is a smart, instinctive playmaker on the back end whose anticipation and smooth athleticism combine to close windows in a hurry for breakups and interceptions with improved ball skills as an upperclassman.

28. [player_tooltip player_id='426961' first='Russell' last='Babineaux'] — 5-9, 160 ATH/WR — Acadiana

The quick-footed athlete and polished route-runner, a one-time target of several Power-Four programs, is the highest-ranked prospect in his hometown Ragin' Cajuns' signing class. Babineaux was been a versatile, three-phase playmaker for Acadiana during his high school career, though even the Wreckin' Rams' more balanced-than-usual offense this fall only provided relatively limited opportunities to put up numbers in his most-natural role as a pass-catcher. Still, he caught 24 passes for 589 yards and eight touchdowns — an explosive 24.5 yards per catch and a touchdown every third reception — while also rushing six times for a similarly efficient 138 yards and another three scores.

27. [player_tooltip player_id='710074' first='Brody' last='Whatley'] — 6-2, 260 DL — Neville

Neville, the top seed in the Division-I Non-Select bracket, prided itself much of the season on its physicality. And, on defense, the TCU-bound lineman was a big part of that identity at the point of attack. Whatley is a stout, strong athlete with the ability to overpower many offensive linemen, but also a good first step, violent hands and use of leverage to slip past blockers for plays behind the line. The one-time Baylor commit instead continues a strong pipeline from Monroe to Fort Worth and is the highest-ranked Louisiana signee in this year's Horned Frogs class.

26. [player_tooltip player_id='912270' first='Landon' last='Hammond'] — 6-2, 160 DB — Opelousas

Another notable recruiting win for Tulane, the Opelousas cornerback was a priority for the Green Wave and ultimately chose the home-state program at the end of a process that included pushes for Power-Four programs from coast-to-coast. Hammond is a long, speedy athlete with an explosive break and reliable tackling in space reading and blowing up screens or helping in run support.

25. [player_tooltip player_id='1214125' first='Joshua' last='Lewis'] — 6-5, 240 DL/EDGE — Dutchtown

Tulane has pushed for the long, athletic defensive lineman during his junior year and was ecstatic to land a potential late steal last month when Missouri pivoted elsewhere in its recruiting class. Lewis possesses a tall, long build that could allow him some positional versatility at the next level depending on his continued physical development. He showed good quickness into opposing backfield and closing speed during his high school career, as well as a good awareness and reflex to get his hands in passing lanes when necessary during his pursuit.

24. [player_tooltip player_id='145332' first='Jaylon' last='Coleman'] — 5-9, 160 ATH/RB — Vandebilt Catholic

The Liberty signee was one of Louisiana's most dynamic weapons his entire high school career and capped his time with the Terriers as the program's all-time leading rusher with more than 5,000 yards after racking up another 1,427 yards and 21 touchdowns as a senior. He also added 168 receiving yards and 250 return yards and heads to college with the potential to be an even more versatile weapon for the Flames with his elite burst, quickness and track speed.

23. [player_tooltip player_id='912286' first='Devon' last='Oliver'] — 6-3, 275 DL — Parkway

Our highest-ranked FCS signee in Louisiana's 2025 class, Parkway's well-rounded multisport student-athlete found a fit in an Ivy League home last month with Yale. Oliver is a big-bodied athlete inside capable of eating double teams and stuffing running lanes and also shooting past blockers and making disruptive plays in the backfield, closing on passers and ball-carriers in a hurry for reliable, strong-handed stops.

22. [player_tooltip player_id='710081' first='Jacob' last='Bradford'] — 6-0, 190 DB — Catholic (Baton Rouge)

The older Bradford brother is likely the most physical defensive back in Louisiana's senior class, particularly as a cornerback. The LSU signee is a versatile athlete in the secondary — highly competitive and confident in any role called upon as a smart, instinctive playmaker with reported 4.4-second 40-yard speed and a strong build that he pairs to consistently arrive to ball-carriers and receivers in explosive, tone-setting fashion.

21. [player_tooltip player_id='914090' first='D.K.' last='Mays'] — 6-4, 250 DL — Central (Baton Rouge)

The biggest leap in this segment of the countdown, the Houston signee climbs to his highest ranking to date after his starring role helping lead his Wildcats to their first state championship since 1966. Mays battled through injury early in the season to play some of his best ball down the stretch of the Central run, including a scoop-and-score early in the title game on which he was into the backfield in a hurry, picked up a loose ball, slipped smoothly past an opponent and darted off the the end zone. The strong and athletic prospect has the potential to be a versatile weapon on his college defensive front as he continues to develop physically.
