Happy New Year, Prep Redzone Nation!

Last night the world celebrated the ringing of a new year, and I turned another year older in my sleep.

Yep, this New Year's Baby had a birthday, and Prep Redzone begins its sixth year of coverage today.

Prep Redzone Kansas grew in the number of athletes featured last season and in the number of subscribers. It was a banner year in which we added three Kansas scouts to our roster.

I thought I would begin by outlining what you might see from Prep Redzone Scouts this month.

First, the Class of 2026 rankings will be updated dramatically late this month or early February. More than 60 athletes have already been added to the rankings, and we will keep looking for a few more weeks.

I will continue to examine some of the state's top defensive players, first focusing on the Class of 2027 and then the Class of 2028.

Prep Redzone scouts will continue to share accolades of players from last fall, feature players in their respective areas, and feature players at their positions of expertise.

My first report for 2025 shines the light on 10 athletes who can expect to be added to the Class of 2026 rankings when they are next updated.

Profile for these athletes have been created on Prep Redzone and can be claimed by using the following link https://prepredzone.com/prospect-index/#claim-profile-anchor
