We're in full swing in the 2025 offseason and are ready for both showcase season and the 7v7 circuit. Before, I'm looking at which rising sophomores in the Lone Star State I think are poised for a big offseason. These guys stood out on tape as freshmen, some at the varsity level and others at the lower levels. Each one I believe could gain some steam on the recruiting trail this offseason and be poised for a big sophomore campaign.

WR: [player_tooltip player_id='1631627' first='Peyton' last='Smith'], 6'3" 180, La Porte

Peyton has the speed and footwork to win his 1 on 1 matchups, he easily tracks deep shot throws and can hold the line downfield. He plucks the football out of the air, he knows how to manipulate defenders & get in their blind spot and shows some strength as a runner after the catch.

OL: Abram Bengard, 6'6" 260, Prestonwood Christian Academy

Abram has the physical stature of a high-level Power-Four prospect. He does a good job of keeping his eyes up on double teams looking to work up to the second level. He can sustain blocks at the second level, his feet never stop churning at the point of attack and he's shown a bit of a mean streak.

WR: [player_tooltip player_id='429762' first='Dominic' last='Butler'] 6" 170, Frisco Lone Star

This kid was dominant at the lower levels finishing with 1,810 all-purpose yards and 19 touchdowns. He's got breakaway speed, explosive change of direction, and the vision to spot small cutback lanes. He can make defenders miss in space and can generate a ton of YAC with little help.

OL: Jai'storm Knight, 6'8" 350, Judson

A massive human being that is surprisingly flexible for a man his size. He's got noticeable strength and can drive down defenders off the football, he moves well for his size and is quick out of his stance picking up inside stunts. He's got some feistiness to him and is still developing as a pass protector.

OL: [player_tooltip player_id='1793850' first='Henry' last='Angeley'], 6'5" 240, Angeley

The tape on Henry is limited, but I did like what I saw in the small sample size. He's got good body control, can displace defenders on man blocks, and has a bit of an edge to him. He's got long arms and a frame he can easily pack another sixty pounds on over the next three years.

OL: Kenderick Morgan, 6'4" 245, Frisco Lone Star

Morgan can drive second-level defenders twenty yards downfield before burying them into the turf. He's tough, athletic, still growing into his body, and has his best ball ahead of him in my eyes.
