2025 Rankings Newcomers: Linebackers

Prep Redzone North Carolina recently updated their Class of 2025 Rankings, and several players were added to the rankings after strong senior seasons! This article will focus on selected linebackers added to this ranking update.    Lawson was a first-team All-Conference selection in the well-regarded Queen City Conference this past season. Lawson's speed and athleticism really make his upside a major plus to colleges on the next level. Lawson received an offer from Lenoir-Rhyne previously, however, I think he should be getting much more recruiting attention just because of his physical traits. Lawson tackles well in the open field and can be an asset blitzing from depth with his speed. Finally, Lawson is a high-level team leader and his presence can be a positive to college programs' locker rooms.     In reviewing Zeon's highlight film, speed is the major thing that stands out to me, on both sides of the ball. Playing as an EDGE on defense, Zeon shows some good ability of getting to the quarterback quickly from a 2-point stance. Zeon also shows the talent to set the edge in the running game and make tackles on outside runs. Offensively, Zeon has good vision in the running game and can take the ball the distance in the running game. As an overall athlete, I could see him helping a program on Special Teams on the next level before they decide where he fits best.     Bryan currently has an offer from Virginia University-Lynchburg, but I think he should be gaining some additional interest from other schools as well. This past season, Bryan had some impressive production with 121 tackles, 19 Tackles for Loss, 8 Sacks, and multiple turnovers forced. This helped earn him an All-Conference Honorable Mention recognition. With his size and speed combination, Bryan definitely should be getting more recruiting attention. He plays the middle of the field well in pass coverage, and excels in making open field tackles with good speed and acceleration, striking with proper technique on a consistent basis.     Jasaan has a lot of interest from multiple colleges, and in my opinion, it is definitely well-deserved. Jasaan was named both his team's defensive MVP and a 1st Team All-conference selection this past season. Jasaan's speed is a major plus - whether he is coming off the edge of the defense or blitzing from depth, Jasaan gets to the football quickly and is a hard-hitter when he gets there. He is an emotional player who impacts winning on a consistent basis. Jasaan is also a 3-down linebacker, showing good discipline in pass coverage and the ability to make plays on the ball in the passing game. He's a good player who can help a college program.     Aden is a heck of a linebacker who is a tackling machine from the middle linebacker position. He had 152 total tackles this past season and was a selection to the Shrine Bowl as well. Aden has received offers to play college football from Lenoir-Rhyne, Newberry, and Mars Hill over the past couple of months. Aden is physical at the point of attack and relentless in getting to ballcarriers in the running game. Aden also shows the ability to play man or zone in the passing game, making him a 3-down player who can be an asset to a college program.
