We're jumping back in the film vault looking at some sophomores making an impact at the varsity level. Their positions vary, as do their skill sets, however, I believe they all have potential and should develop nicely over their next two varsity seasons. They each flashed on tape and are only going to continue to develop both physically and mentally.

WR: [player_tooltip player_id='946500' first='Will' last='Burgess'] 6" 185, Champion

Burgess has plenty of onfield build-up speed, he can outrun defenders with an angle on him and is a natural at tracking the football in the air. He has the leaping ability to go up and climb the ladder, shows strong hands through contested catches, and does a good creating late separation downfield. He can hold the line on shot throws and can find space for his quarterback on the scramble drill.

DL: [player_tooltip player_id='1139357' first='Reno' last='Hermann'] 6'2" 240, Argyle

This young man plays with well-trained hands, slapping away an opponent's punch, his pads stay low off the snap and he can fold inside to provide late run support. He's well-coached, can squeeze through opposing double teams, and can easily detach from man blocks. He's pretty sporty right now and has lined up at multiple positions upfront, however, based on his size I project him to strictly play inside at the next level.

WR: [player_tooltip player_id='1247962' first='Manny' last='Leyja'] 6'1" 170, Cypress Ranch

Manny understands how to stem a defensive back, he sticks his foot in the turf & accelerates out of cuts, and can adjust to throws late downfield. He has the quickness and change of direction to defeat press coverage, he's a deceptive route runner and shows excellent concentration through contact. He has terrific body control and doesn't hesitate venturing into the middle of the field.

RB: [player_tooltip player_id='514525' first='Kiante' last='Ingram'] 5'10" 175, North Crowley

A speedy and slippery back with the creativity to make something happen on a broken play. He has excellent vision and can get to his top gear in the blink of an eye. Look for his production to skyrocket next year and beyond as he should get a bigger workload as a junior and senior. I think when it's all said and done he could be a big-time recruit heading to the next level.

OLB: [player_tooltip player_id='803579' first='Joshua' last='Bengard'] 6'1" 210, Prestonwood Christian Academy

This kid is a fighter through the whistle, he can bend around the edge and will put his body on the line to make a play for his team. He consistently penetrates behind the line, he has the body control to make tackles in space, and is a thumper on contact.
