It's playoff time in Texas! If you ask me, there's no state tougher to win a state title in than Texas. Week in and week out you're playing battle-tested teams from around the state and looking to survive & advance. It should be a fun 2024 playoffs.

Well today, I'm looking at which 2027 receivers are making a name for themselves. A good amount of the prospects already have offers and I think that list will only grow over time. Keep an eye on these guys over the next two seasons.

As always, If you have someone you think I need to see, please DM them to me on Twitter at @hsfbscout!

[player_tooltip player_id='946488' first='Bayne' last='Martin'] 5'11" 170, Aledo

Bayne is sudden at the top of routes, he shows great contact balance after the catch and is a scrappy blocker on the perimeter. He's tough, reliable, can get to his top gear quickly, and is willing to lower his shoulder to cap off runs.

[player_tooltip player_id='1249728' first='Kaleb' last='Samuels'] 5'7" 135, Pearland

This kid is a burner with legit 10.6 100-meter speed. He can blow the doors off a two-high shell and will consistently keep safeties on their toes. Kaleb is rarely brought down by the first tackle attempt, he has the vision to spot open cutback lanes and is an explosive return man who can flip the field in the blink of an eye.

[player_tooltip player_id='946501' first='Hayden' last='Cooley'] 6'1" 185, Walnut Grove

Hayden has quick hands to snatch the ball out of the air, he's a crafty route runner who knows how to generate separation and accelerates out of his cuts with no wasted steps. He's got excellent concentration through traffic, strong hands, and shows a willingness to put his body on the line & take tough shots from defenders.

[player_tooltip player_id='946511' first='Darnell' last='Jackson Jr.'] 5'10" 155, Grand Oaks

Darnell is a serious homerun threat with the speed to track down deep shot throws. He's slippery after the catch, he's got filthy change of direction that makes defenders look silly, and will maintain his composure through physical hits. He's creative, can get to the edge, and plays bigger than his listed height

[player_tooltip player_id='1247908' first='Cameron' last='Booker'] 6'3" 205, Chisholm Trail

Booker has good size and a great build to go with it. He uses his frame to shield smaller defenders from the football, he plucks the football at its highest point and has easy body control. He's got a massive catch radius and can contort his body into awkward positions for poorly placed throws.

Erick Reese, 5'9" 160, Denton Guyer

Reese knows how to lull defenders to sleep with route tempo, he quickly accelerates and runs right by opposing corners. He's an explosive kick returner who can take it 90 yards to the house, he's a skilled route runner who can spin defenders like a top and can line up just about anywhere on the field and generate big plays

Ty Johnson, 6'3" 190, Lampasas

A long strider with deceptive speed, physicality through contact, and a penchant for making plays in the red area. He has no fear with the ball in his hands, he's a mauler as a blocker and can make a big impact in the perimeter screen game.

It's playoff time in Texas! If you ask me, there's no state tougher to win a state title in than Texas. Week in and week out you're playing battle-tested teams from around the state and looking to survive & advance. It should be a fun 2024 playoffs.
