Season’s Top Performing 2025 K/P Prospects

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Let's take a look at some of the top performing specialist of the season. A lot of these players I have seen live in game and have witnessed some impressive FG's &amp; KOs from them. Specialist recruiting is a tricky one and colleges can come looking for them at any point of the year, patience is key. All of these players listed below should be strong looks for colleges planning to scholarship a K/P this cycle.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In this article I have focused on K/P's who are still being recruited and looking for offers. However there are a few specialist worth mentioning that have have great seasons this fall and have already committed for the next level. [player_tooltip player_id='372557' first='Cooper' last='Welch'] from MIAA Champions Archbishop Spalding committed to Navy earlier this summer, Clarksburg HS K/P [player_tooltip player_id='1574833' first='Zaydaan' last='Faridi'] committed to Towson in Oct. of this fall, and [player_tooltip player_id='372535' first='Brian' last='Checkley'] from Gilman committed to punt at Harvard. I was at St. James game vs Allegany where he broke the Washington County record for longest FG with a 53 yarder off the left hash. He cleared it with ease and could have been good from 60yds. A clutch kicker as well, Jorge matched his record with a game tying 53 yd FG vs. Virginia Academy, and then later that game made a game winning FG for St. James. He has all the leg necessary on kick offs as well, getting 45 touchbacks on the year with one being a 75 yarder after a penalty that still made it's way into the end zone. Is accuracy is top level as well making 100% of his FG attempts under 53yards. I expect him to start making those 55+ kicks in the future as he continue to gets an even strong leg. A good size prospect as well at 6'4", over 200lbs and looks the part of a football player. He has the power, accuracy, confidence and clutch factor, not much more you can ask for from your kicker. Currently getting lots of interest from Georgetown recently, as well as visiting Maryland. Owen has a powerful leg having made a school record 54yard FG earlier this season. He also gets it done as a punter, with a 42yd avg punt and roughly half landing inside the 20. He is capable of doing a traditional punt or a roll out rugby style offering versatility in that area of the game. Averaging 64yds per KO, it is basically guarantee he gets it in the end zone. He had 15/20 touchbacks half way through the season and I'm sure he continued that level of consistency. He has a season long FG of 45yds and rarely misses from inside of 40. Drew is even more impressive as a punter and is in contention for best in the state. He gets on average 4.0seconds of hang time and can boot it down the field. Drew had two big time punts recently, in which crushed it for 50 / 45 air yards and 75 / 66 total yards respectively. That shows the ability to not only just kick it hard but make it difficult for a return while being able make it so the ball gets a good bounce and continues down the field. Still new to kicking he has a lot of potential and room for growth as a prospect. On the year he went 6/7 on FGs and made 100% of his XPs going 25/25. Kato added 10 touchbacks from KOs and made multiple Punts drop inside the 10. He is impressive in his kick-offs being able to drive the ball deep into the end zone for touchbacks. That shows he has nice leg power and his FG range should only improve as he continues to develop. Kato is also a high high academic kid as an IB kid with a 4.3 GPA. He is an all district K, 4.5 star rated on Kohl's and holds 4 offer/roster spots, including picking up an offer to Southern Utah in the recent weeks. On the year he has a long of a 43yd FG, while making multiple field goals from 30+ yards. He has also recorded 33 touchbacks on the season which is an impressive number. Tyler has plenty of power in his leg for the next level and that should only continue to improve. Over his 2 year career at Mountain Ridge Tyler has recorded over 100 total points, averaging 5points per game and making 70% of all his field goals. His kicking has been a huge plus for DeMatha this season. A Strong built with powerful legs, Alex has a season long field goal of 50yards and has also made multiple from 40+. His soccer background as a goalie in soccer and doing soccer punts has helped him as he is used to putting all his leg into a kick and that has transferred over to the football field successfully. Alex has a strong compact built with solid tree trunks for legs. He can get a lot of power into his kicks with a full leg swing. Leading to just booting it on some kick-offs, where he has had 80yds &amp; 75yds...that is some legit force into the ball. A quality punter as well, I like Alex more as a kicker currently but with his leg strength he can certainly develop as a punter as well. He has recorded 34 touchbacks on the year, with a long of 73yards and plenty of KOs of 65yds plus leading to a 62yd average per kick-off. As a punter, he has a long of 66yds on the year with a 42yard avg. and has recorded 13 in side the 20 which is a stat I like to see. Sam is a good overall athlete as well for a K/P who isn't afraid to get involved in the game and make a tackle.
