However, we have the opportunity to highlight several players that lit up the last week of the season. Here are several players that closed out the regular season in impressive fashion.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='221291' first='Demetric' last='Denton']-Wide Receiver-Newport-6'4” 171-Pounds-2025</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='221291' first='Demetric' last='Denton'] had a big night on both sides of the ball for Newport on Friday night. On the offensive side of the ball, he had three receptions for 91 yards and a touchdown. Denton is a versatile player that sees playing time on both sides of the ball. On the defensive side of the ball, had two tackles, a forced fumble, and two interceptions on the night. Denton is a prospect that has had a strong season and is a player with the potential to play on Saturdays.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1195565' first='Isaiah' last='Stephens']-Running Back-Sheridan-5'8” 163-Pounds-2027</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Sheridan running back is a versatile running back that can hurt opposing defenses running between the tackles or cut the run down the sideline. Stephens produced another impressive night on Friday. He rushed for 113 yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, he also had 120 yards receiving last Friday night. He is a running back to watch out for over the next couple of seasons for Sheridan.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='401196' first='Kamauri' last='Austin']-Wide Receiver-Bryant-6'4” 185-Pounds-2026</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='401196' first='Kamauri' last='Austin'] is a wide receiver with the ability to take a game over. He does an excellent job of creating separation from opposing defensive backs. On Friday night, Austin had six receptions for 161 yards and four touchdowns against Conway. He is a player to watch out for during the playoffs. Austin is a wide receiver that can put up big numbers against anyone. The Bryant Hornets are a team to watch out for in the playoffs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1152116' first='Owen' last='McLaughlin']-Running Back-Southside-5'8” 180-Pounds-2026</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1152116' first='Owen' last='McLaughlin'] has had a breakout season for Southside this season. On Friday night, he continued to churn out the yards on the ground. McLaughlin rushed for 161 yards, one touchdown on the ground, one two-point conversion, one reception for six yards, and two kick-off returns for 58 yards. McLaughlin is a player to watch out for over the next few months.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Luke Reynolds-Quarterback-Newport-5'11” 156-Pounds-2026</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Newport signal caller has had a strong 2024 football season. Reynolds does a tremendous job of spreading the ball around to his wide receivers. He was 10 of 15 for 188 yards and three touchdowns on the night for Newport. Reynolds has the mobility to extend the play and buy time for his wide receivers to get open. He is a player to watch out for over the next few months for Newport.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='232211' first='Brandon' last='Cobb']-Quarterback-Pulaski Academy-6'4” 205-Pounds-2025</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='232211' first='Brandon' last='Cobb'] can pick opposing defenses apart using his arm or his legs. Cobb does an excellent job of causing problems for opposing defenses. He had all facets of his game going on Friday night. Throwing the football, he was 29 of 37 for 350 yards and three touchdowns. Meanwhile, he rushed 20 times for 155 yards and three touchdowns on the night. Cobb is a player to watch out for in the state playoffs this season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Joseph Accelus-Running Back-Monticello-5'10” 180-Pounds-2027</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Joseph Accelus is a running back who explodes through the rushing lanes. He allows the rushing lanes to develop and displays good patience running the ball. On Friday night, he rushed 27 times for 133 yards. Accelus displayed the ability to catch the football on Friday, hauling in a touchdown reception for 65 yards. He is a player to watch out for over the next few seasons.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='221273' first='Jordan' last='Walker']-Quarterback-Bryant-6'1” 210-Pounds-2025</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Bryant quarterback had a strong night for the Hornets on Friday. Walker was 14 of 25 for 253 yards and four touchdowns. Meanwhile, he made excellent use of his legs against the Wampus Cats. Walker had 10 carries for 97 yards on the night. Walker is a player to watch out for as the playoffs get started.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
