The Comets spent the last year motivated to go farther this Fall. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Mission accomplished. They stream-rolled North Scott, 35-7, in Thursday's Class 4A semifinals. They advanced to face Pella for the championship next week. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"It's a really great feeling," North Polk junior [player_tooltip player_id='1240437' first='Bryce' last='Burke'] said. "Last year, the experience was horrible, and we didn't want to experience it again. So, we kind of came in with a chip on our shoulder." </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Comets broke open a game they led, 14-7, at halftime with a 21-point third quarter. They scored on their first three possessions after the break. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>"We kind of came out slow in the first half, got punched in the mouth and then came back," North Polk senior Nathan Feldmann said. "We scored a couple of times and that got the momentum going. The defenses started getting stops."</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Feldmann completed 5 of 6 passes for 105 yards and three touchdowns, and rushed nine times for 73 yards and a score. [player_tooltip player_id='1361480' first='BJ' last='Tate Jr']. caught two passes for 104 yards and a TD, and added 45 yards on the ground. [player_tooltip player_id='1361539' first='Jakob' last='Phillips'] registered a team-best 7.5 tackles with a tackle for loss and a sack, and he also caught a touchdown. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>North Polk improved to 12-0, while North Scott finished up at 9-3.
