Mountain Island at Ballantyne Ridge – Offensive Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In an "extra week" game that didn't officially count toward the game standings, the Mountain Island Raptors defeated the Ballantyne Ridge Wolves 42-14 on the strength of a strong performance on both sides of the football. Mountain Island is moving on to the first round of the 1A state playoffs, while Ballantyne Ridge ends their first season as a brand-new school in South Charlotte. Justice did a lot of damage on the outside in this game, using his electric speed to run past cornerbacks. Justice can be dangerous in the slot as well on crossing routes and can be a threat in the running game on jet sweeps and reverses. Javon showed he has a bright future as a dual-threat quarterback with five touchdown passes. Javon has an excellent touch on the deep ball down the sideline. Javon also does a great job of scrambling to throw and has a nice accuracy in throwing the football on the run. Andre scored on two deep receiving touchdowns, where he showed some blazing speed to get behind the Ballantyne Ridge secondary. In the 2nd half, Andre played some quarterback and threw a touchdown pass as well. Andre is nicknamed "3k", and he has a bright future as a wide receiver and possibly playing some defense as well. That being said, he had his best statistical game so far this season, throwing two touchdown passes for the Wolves. Ryder at first look does not look like a dual-threat player, but he shows some real potential as that kind of quarterback - he escaped some potential sacks with good quickness and kept his head downfield while scrambling to make throws. His size at 6'2 and 200 pounds makes him an intriguing target on the outside as a receiver. Demetrice caught one of the two Wolves touchdown passes in the 3rd quarter on an inside-breaking route. Caleb played some linebacker, and running back, and even played a series or two as a wildcat-type of quarterback. As the Wolves build their program, these type of athletes are very important in rounding out the team for the Wolves. I think Caleb has some good speed and athleticism, and with a strong off-season, he has the potential to play college football in his future. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
