Teams are making the final push for playoff positioning and the quarterbacks took the forefront of the attention this week for the Game Ball nominations. But several players played key roles as some teams closed out regular season play, and others have one week remaining.

Here is a look at the Game Ball recipients from the Midlands for Week 10.

[player_tooltip player_id='1359132' first='Jeremiah' last='Burson'] LB, Kam Fortune RB and [player_tooltip player_id='809744' first='John' last='Peeples'] RB, Sumter

Burson dominated in a 65-28 victory over Westwood. He tallied 17 total tackles that included 11 solo stops. He also added a tackle for loss. The duo of Fortune (111 yards and three touchdowns) and Peeples (120 yards, two touchdowns) helped the Gamecocks rush for 439 yards and seven touchdowns. [player_tooltip player_id='1603974' first='Franklin' last='Richardson'] added two passing scores and a rushing TD.

[player_tooltip player_id='272713' first='AJ' last='Brand'] QB, Irmo

It would not surprise us if Brand ended up doing the laundry after the Yellow Jackets 55-21 win over Chapin. All the Virginia Tech commitment did was throw for five touchdown passes and run for three more. He went well over the 10,000-yard mark for his career. He finished 18-of-26 passing for 196 yards and he added 263 yards on 11 carries. [player_tooltip player_id='377560' first='Donovan' last='Murph'] and Joey Albritton each had two receiving TDs.

[player_tooltip player_id='1267234' first='Kenton' last='Caldwell'] QB, Newberry

Caldwell was as perfect as you could be in the first half in a 45-0 victory over Swansea. The junior has flourished since being named the full-time signal-caller and in Friday's win, was 10-fo-11 for 297 yards and three touchdowns in the first half alone when the Bulldogs jumped to a 42-0 lead. He threw his three TD passes to three different receivers.

Jack Croft WR, Hammond

Croft finished with six receptions for 126 yards and two TD receptions from QB [player_tooltip player_id='1261525' first='Andrew' last='Turner'] to help the Skyhawks finish off an unbeaten regular season in which Hammond won every game by at least 16 points. Croft has turned into a top target for Turner and looks to continue as Hammond tries to defend its state championship.

[player_tooltip player_id='860400' first='Drevon' last='Dopson'] QB and Tyronne Jackson RB, Brookland-Cayce

Dopson threw for three touchdowns and ran for another in a 49-14 victory over Airport. One of Dopson's TD passes went to Jackson, who also ran for two scores.

[player_tooltip player_id='1172363' first='Khristian' last='Jackson'] WR, Ridge View

The Blazers set up a showdown with Sumter for the region title next week and it had to do with the efforts of Jackson. The sophomore caught two TD passes and returned a punt for a score to account for all three touchdowns in a 21-7 victory over Blythewood. That gives Jackson a team-best eight TD catches on the season.

The defense, Batesburg-Leesville

The Panthers inched closer to a region title and improved to 9-0 on the season, its best start since 2000. They limited Saluda to 176 total yards that included just 57 rushing yards. Gabe Johnson and [player_tooltip player_id='1472383' first='Christian' last='Burkett'] (pictured) were making plays sideline-to-sideline from their linebacker spots. John Sawyer and [player_tooltip player_id='1592434' first='Tyler' last='Wootton'] were disruptive from their defense end spots and Clarence Springs, Amare Odom and [player_tooltip player_id='1592414' first='KD' last='Whitt'] shut things down in the secondary.

[player_tooltip player_id='1267290' first='Ethan' last='Offing'] QB and [player_tooltip player_id='1592529' first='Julian' last='Walker'] LB, Dutch Fork

Offing had a career-best night in a 41-14 victory over River Bluff. The junior completed 21-of-27 passes for 417 yards and four touchdowns. He threw two TD passes to [player_tooltip player_id='1013047' first='KJ' last='Smith'] and one each to [player_tooltip player_id='1360308' first='Boykin' last='Bickley'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1012701' first='Maurice' last='Anderson'], who also added two rushing scores. Walker registered 11 tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack.

Logan Freeman LB, Camden

Freeman had six tackles but more importantly added a pick-six to help lead the Bulldogs to a 44-21 victory over AC Flora.

Ryker Woolstenhulme RB/LB and Jamarian Dewalt DB, Mid-Carolina

Woolstenhulme returned the second half kickoff for a touchdown to help propel the Rebels to a 37-0 victory over Eau Claire. Dewalt also returned an interception for a score that helped Mid-Carolina to take a 23-0 lead at the half.

Allen Moore QB, Pelion

The sophomore threw for two touchdown passes to help the Panthers wrap up a playoff spot with a 28-6 victory over American Leadership Academy.

[player_tooltip player_id='346199' first='Landon' last='Sharpe'] QB, White Knoll

The Timberwolves snapped a three-game losing streak with a 35-14 win over rival Lexington and it was the play of Sharpe that had a lot to do with the outcome. Sharpe accounted for three total touchdowns, two passing scores to [player_tooltip player_id='1012621' first='Devin' last='Geronomi'] and another on the ground. If White Knoll is going to make a push in the Class AAAAA, Division II playoffs, Sharpe is going to have to be a vocal point of the offensive attack.

Hudson Shick DE, Northside Christian

The Crusaders wrapped up a 9-1 regular season by limiting Camden Military to 181 total yards in a 48-14 victory. Shick finished with eight tackles, three tackles for loss, three sacks and six quarterback pressures. Northside Christian will take a seven-game winning streak into the postseason and have not allowed more than 20 points in a game during that winning streak.

[player_tooltip player_id='1359251' first='Zeb' last='Taylor'] DL and [player_tooltip player_id='605529' first='BJ' last='Montgomery'] RB, Gray Collegiate

Taylor has been great all season and had one of his best outings in a 49-0 victory over Gilbert. The defensive end/H-back had several pancake blocks on offense and totaled eight tackles and 4.5 sacks on defense. That helped the War Eagles to hold Gilbert to a negative 38 yards rushing and just 112 yards of total offense. Montgomery ran for 132 yards and three touchdowns – 2, 1 and 15 yards.

Da'Shan Scriven DB and [player_tooltip player_id='1664643' first='Calvin' last='Wofford'] RB, Crestwood

Scriven, a junior, came away with three interceptions in a 42-7 win over Lakewood. One of the interceptions turned into a pick-6. He added a pass breakup and a tackle. Wofford, a sophomore, ran for 90 yards and two touchdowns in his most extensive action of the season.
