Connecticut isn't the first state that comes to mind when thinking about where quality football players come from. However, there is a lot of talent in the Nutmeg State if you look hard enough. Below are five prospects from CT that have shown ability as eighth-graders and should have football people interested.

Lumpris is the true definition of an athlete, playing running back, wide receiver, and featuring on the defense as well. To me Lumpris tracks best as a RB at the next level, showcasing impressive size, speed, and shiftiness that will serve him well as a tailback. Lumpris also has impressive hands as a pass catcher, not only making him a receiving threat out of the backfield, but also able to line up in the slot in certain packages. And if you have any doubt that Lumpris athleticism may stagnate as he ages, don't because with both of his brothers being current D1 prospects, and his dad being a former Temple Owl, it's clear that athleticism is in his blood.

Like Lumpris, Pshyby is another multi-position athlete who profiles best as a running back in the future. Pshyby lines up as a running back, wide receiver, and corner, being a dynamic threat at all three spots. Physicality is Pshyby's greatest strength, being a mean downhill runner and a big hitter in the secondary. His dual position ability will serve him well in high school, but when he focuses on one position in college and beyond, his raw talent will make him a star.

Next up is Fairfield's Wide Receiver, Corner, Linebacker athlete Max Costello. Costello features best as a receiver and linebacker, playing great at both and leaving it up in the air on which he would play full time moving forward. As a wide out Costello showcases great hands, and a tough, physical running style that leads him to typically break the first tackle attempt. That physical play also serves him great at Linebacker, as he pairs that with his explosive burst off the line and large frame to be a big hitter and TFL machine.

Hartline is a dual-threat signal caller who excels both with his arm and his legs. His speed and athleticism allow him to extend plays and make highlight reel plays with his legs, while his strong arm and accuracy make him a dangerous passer downfield. Whether he's scrambling to evade pressure or setting his feet to fire a deep shot, Hartline has the ability to change the game with his versatility. With the combination of elite speed, mobility, and throwing ability, Hartline is a dynamic quarterback who can keep defenses on their toes and be an overall match-up nightmare.

Last but not least is 8th-grade athlete Frank Green, a prospect who has showed promise at Running Back and Defensive Back. Green's explosiveness and speed make him a threat every time he touches the ball. While his vision and quick decision-making complement that athleticism perfectly. Green has great contact balance, and a good stiff arm when he needs to use it, but with his elusiveness and speed being so much better than anyone else he plays against, he rarely needs to use them. Overall Green is a prospect with an upside and should only continue to grow and get better as he ages.
