Butler's Ballers: '29 Standouts from the GMSAA State Championship

There were several teams who had the chance to participate in the GMSSA State Championship games over the weekend and I spotted a group of stand out players whether it be defensive, offensive or players who did it on both sides of the ball creating impact for their team win or lose. Here are the group of stand outs from a few teams I noticed over the championship weekend.    Ke'Shon was a stand out during the Georgia Middle School State Championship games. He was making plays all over the field. Hall is a guy who can play at the Quarterback position, receiver or anywhere else he is asked to play. Hall has proven the ability to be affective anywhere for his team and he certainly did so in the biggest game of the year which is one big reason they were able to top Carrollton for the State title.     A big reason for winning the championship was [player_tooltip player_id='1398484' first='London' last='Leath']. His dynamic playmaking ability set him apart in the title game and with his aggressive playstyle and ability to make plays not only with athleticism, but his IQ was a huge part of the success for his team. Leath is a massive playmaker that you can place anywhere out there to make big time plays.     Page was a big-time target in the championship game with or without the ball in his hands because of him being such a threat to the defense. Page has the ability to break a game wide open and he was able to find the endzone to keep his team in the tight championship game in which they won. Page had a major impact on his team this season.     Cannon has a perfect last name at the quarterback position because it stands true for him that he possesses a "cannon" of an arm. Cannon has a strong ability to deliver the football and do it in an accurate fashion. He played a huge role in the title game getting his playmakers on the outside the ball in order to throw points up on the board. Cannon is an impressive gunslinger and athlete at the position with a very good IQ.     A leader of the offense and a guy that tends to make good decisions by getting the ball out on time and quickly. A major skill set and ability to get the ball off at different angles is very impressive from Parker. Parker helped lead his team to the championship and to an undefeated season which is no easy feat in the state of Georgia at any level. Parker played very well in the state title game and as a result of that, they won the state title. Parker finished his career 32-1 with a 65% comp rate and 70 TDs.     In my opinion he might just end up the best high school player in the state of Georgia in the 2029 class. Ragland is a complete yet dominate player at the Linebacker position and the running back position. He was a massive reason the Wolves of Rome won their state championship this past weekend. Ragland is surrounded by future next level talent but one thing is for certain is that the team operates through Ragland. Ragland scored several times on the ground offensively at running back and made many key plays defensively.     [player_tooltip player_id='1555827' first='Jeremy' last='Ferguson Jr.'] made quiet the statement Saturday in their championship game, and you could easily say that some of his big-time plays are what helped separated the Wolves from the Jackets of Sprayberry in the title game. A huge playmaker for his squad and he used his fearless playstyle to help propel his team to the victory.     A huge impact made at the defensive line spot for McKinney who was able to make stops all over the field helping his team win the title. McKinney is a guy who helped lead a defensive who went the entire season up until the final game of the regular season to be scored on. The magician at the defensive line position is a big reason for the succuss and he certainly earned his title this weekend by making plays and being disruptive on defense.     An important piece to the Rome offensive success is in large part to [player_tooltip player_id='1558709' first='Kelan' last='Orr']. A humble, hardworking young man who puts his teammates first yet puts them on his back in critical situations and gets the job done is what Orr did during the championship run. Orr has been a big piece and certainly is a reason for the championship victory.     Playmaker is the best way to explain what Beasley was during the championship game. Beasley is known for being a threat in all phases of the game and he was able to do that Saturday. Khaison had a huge interception that in many ways sealed the deal for his team to punch in another touchdown to pull away with a 34-20 win over Sprayberry for all of the marbles.     I have been really high on Jordan for a good while now and seeing him play in the biggest game of them all this past weekend was even more confirmation of just why this guy is special now and will continue to become even more special. Trucker came up big all season long for his Trojans and he did the same thing in the state title game. Jordan was able to get off many big plays which was one reason why they were in a battle with McEachern. Trucker showed why he's one of the best of the best in his class in the state of Georgia.     A lights out athlete who has had a major impact on his team this season leading up to championship weekend. McFadden had plenty of impact in helping his team compete heavily in the title game and he proved once again why he's a force that will only get better at the next level.     Big impact player who made noise all season for his team and is a difference maker at the linebacker position. He played championship level football which helped his team rise to the occasion as well and Nolan is a guy to keep an eye on moving forward because he shows up biggest in big time games.     A dangerous player with the ball in his hands and a player who can split the defense with his pure natural speed. Walthall has been an impact player and certainly showed that in the state title game. A natural and gifted athlete who can play anywhere he is needed and is a dynamic option when they are looking for a big play in the game.     One of the most electric players in the state of Georgia and a guy who helped lead his squad to the state title in the GMSAA. In the championship game, Myton played to his potential giving the opposing team problems no matter where he was on the gridiron. He proved with his ball skills and speed that he was a major impact this past weekend.     McGinnis was a guy all year long who made huge plays on both ends of the ball for his team and in the state championship game it was no different. McGinnis has ball skills second to none and a defensive ability to play with the best of the best. McGinnis showed in the title game that his presence would be felt on both sides.
