Arkansas 3A Playoffs – Prospect Watch

The 2024 Arkansas High School Football playoffs begin tomorrow. The path to the state championship is more challenging than ever. Here are five prospects to watch during the playoffs in 3A.    [player_tooltip player_id='231812' first='Aamonii' last='Wren'] is a hybrid athlete who can dominate as a running back, wide receiver, return specialist, and defensive back. Wren demonstrates very good athletic ability due to good foot quickness, speed, change of direction, acceleration, and balance. With his good post-snap vision, he can read first-level defenders and patiently locate openings, exploding through holes with impressive bursts. Wren is a smooth route runner and a threat for yards after catch (YAC) thanks to his elusiveness, lateral agility, and ability to make quick cuts or accelerate upfield. He can adjust mid-route due to his good body control, balance, and hand-eye coordination. Wren's speed, athleticism, and explosiveness also make him a vertical threat capable of stretching the field. He has a quick first step, keeping his eyes in the backfield to read and react quickly. He stays square when attacking blocks, allowing him to disengage with solid hand use. Williams has the power and balance to play running back as well.   Note - Multi Position Athlete   X: <a href="https://x.com/trev1onwilliams">https://x.com/trev1onwilliams</a>     [player_tooltip player_id='1216601' first='Jackson' last='Taylor'] is an underrated quarterback in Arkansas. He has a strong arm and can deliver passes under pressure. He displays solid poise and footwork while standing in the pocket, and he can slide or step up to keep his eyes downfield. Taylor demonstrates solid pocket mobility and post-snap awareness to evade pressure. He runs an option offense, showcasing good decision-making and strong command of the game. Solid ball placement at all levels of the field. He demonstrates solid initial quickness off the snap, allowing him to position himself effectively to gain leverage and drive defenders out of gaps, thereby creating running lanes. His strong lower body power, physical strength, and active footwork contribute to his effectiveness. Additionally, he excels in open space during screen or zone plays, utilizing good angles to reach defenders. He displays a strong anchor due to good lower body strength, core strength, and balance. Harneck's skills also translate well to the defensive side of the ball, where he can dominate as well. He demonstrates good athletic ability with good foot speed, agility, and quickness. He is a versatile wide receiver who can play at the X, Z, or in the slot. Henderson displays a good release due to good acceleration to eat up space quickly. He also has good hand-eye coordination and body control to adjust mid-route.
