26s/27s 9-Man Film Review

As I continue to research returning 9-man prospects, I've stumbled across 8 more varsity athletes who are going to be returning and making waves during the 2025 season. Meet 8 more out-state prospects!    A versatile linebacker boasting a thick frame, Flynn-Belevance is one of a few Bertha-Hewitt athletes who have impressed me in 2024. He's both incredibly fast and physical, and he flows well to the alleys without overextending himself and opening up cutback lanes. When he finds a lane to attack the ball carrier, Flynn-Belevance will lay out whoever is unfortunate enough to be across from him. He plays with his head on a swivel and can make a lot of plays making split-second decisions. Keep an eye out for this rising 2026 LB.     A running back with impressive athleticism, Day doesn't fit the bill of your typical 9-man RB. His speed and quickness popped immediately to me on film. Once he hits a hole he can explode to the second or third level before defensive linemen can even react. Day does some of his best work running between the tackles, but also frequently chunks off mid-level gains by beating defenders to the edge. I'd love to see Day at a combine this summer to further evaluate his potential.     A 2027 9-man athlete with a fantastic frame, Geyen looks like an athlete with NSIC upside if he continues to develop on this trajectory. He's bigger, stronger, and more physical than all of his opponents, and he is a game-breaker on both sides of the ball. He gets into open space well with a ball in his hands but really shines on the other side of the ball where he crushes kids on defense. If he could lower his pad level a bit and continue to hit the weight room, Geyen would be a giant problem for opponents.     Heppner is one of the higher-end 9-man defensive linemen, and as he continues to pack on weight he continues to cause bigger and bigger problems in the trenches. He boasts a nasty bull rush which he uses to bully smaller offensive linemen but has also showcased solid bend around the edge. His quick first step and his physicality will wear on offensive linemen throughout a game. Combined with Heppner's relentless pressure, he's becoming a serious problem for opposing offensive lines. With a solid camp circuit season, I could see Heppner's stock rising significantly.     Hands down one of the biggest name 9-man prospects, Kaaleem Reiland has done nothing but get better and better. A QB who is sure to shine at RB at the next level, Reiland is beyond quick and explosive. He's averaging 9.0 ypc this season, and that seems low at times. If you need him to grind out a tough 2 yards up in the trenches, he can do that. If you need him to break off a chunk play, he's able to do that too. He's electric, explosive, and deserves all the hype that's coming to him ahead of his senior year.     I've been high on Klunder for a while now, and I like his odds of developing into a highly-touted prospect over the next two years. The RB1 for a solid Houston squad, Klunder is a downhill back with surprising speed and power. His legs never stop moving and because of that, he'll reliably break arm tackles throughout the game. I love that he wastes no time getting north and south and his tape speaks for itself. I think come rankings time we'll see Klunder's stock rise significantly.     He may not be the biggest defensive line prospect, but Kinstler brings a lot to the table that would be a beneficial addition to MIAC, WIAC, and UMAC schools either in the trenches or moved back as a linebacker. He's far faster off the line than the offensive linemen he goes against, and does possess both a fearsome bull rush and the ability to beat the tackle outside. He can hawk down run plays from the backside and creates a lot of problems in both the pass and run game.     A junior RB who has burst onto the scene this year, Linn is a grinder. He's taking the ball between the tackles and he's breaking 2-4 tackles and powering through for some serious yards after contact. He's always pumping his legs through contact, trying to run over a defender and falling forward for the extra yards. He can make a quick cut when needed and has also seen success catching the ball out of play action. Linn is vastly underrated and needs more attention ahead of his senior year.
