2027 Prospects Ready for 2025

Prep Redzone Arkansas will highlight several prospects from the class of 2027 who have the potential to open many eyes in 2025. Each prospect listed here has the potential to put up big numbers next season on Friday nights.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='594778' first='Slade' last='Norwood']-Quarterback-Greenland-6'1” 165-Pounds</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Greenland signal caller had a monster season in 2024. Norwood displayed an impressive pocket presence and knew when to escape the pocket. He does not lock in on one wide receiver and spreads the ball around to his teammates. Norwood threw for 2,830 yards, 35 touchdowns, and only three interceptions. Norwood has set the bar high after a great 2024 season and I look forward to seeing what he will do in 2025.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1301890' first='William' last='Gaines']-Linebacker-Searcy-5'10” 190-Pounds</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The state of Arkansas continues to do a great job of producing talented linebackers with the potential to play on Saturdays. Searcy linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1301890' first='William' last='Gaines'] fits that description perfectly. Gaines is a linebacker that defeats blocks and gets to the ball carrier. He has the quickness to get sideline to sideline. Meanwhile, Gaines does not have trouble dropping back into pass coverage. The Searcy linebacker had 95 tackles on the season and is a player that has the potential for a big 2025 season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1516821' first='Mario' last='Brownlee']-Linebacker-Prescott-5'11” 195-Pounds</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1516821' first='Mario' last='Brownlee'] had a tremendous 2024 season for the Prescott Curley Wolves. He is a linebacker that has a nose for the football. Brownlee gets to the ball carrier quickly and does not have a problem bringing him down. Brownlee is another linebacker that gets sideline to sideline and can drop back into pass coverage. During the 2024 season, Brownlee had 106 tackles and is a prospect capable of producing an even bigger season in 2025.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1192752' first='Bryston' last='McCoy']-Quarterback-Arkadelphia-6'0” 170-Pounds</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Arkadelphia is a team that does an excellent job of producing talented players that have the ability to play at the next level. [player_tooltip player_id='1192752' first='Bryston' last='McCoy'] fits that description well. He is a quarterback that has the accuracy to throw his wide receivers open. McCoy has the arm strength to test opposing secondaries with the deep ball. He has opened plenty of eyes during the 2024 season. I expect McCoy to have another strong season in 2025.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1554225' first='Dallas' last='Vanderbush']-Wide Receiver-Cedarville-6'4” 170-Pounds</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='1554225' first='Dallas' last='Vanderbush'] has tremendous versatility on both sides of the ball for Cedarville and the Pirates. He has the potential to see playing time on both sides of the ball. Vanderbush does a great job of going up and snagging the football away from opposing defenders. Vanderbush is a player who has the talent to cause plenty of problems for opposing offenses on both sides of the ball. I look for him to have a big season for Cedarville next season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
