Enjoy!

Week seven is in the books and every Sunday, we'll take a look at some of the top performers from each week in high school football across the state. From big time performances in big games to clutch performances and stat sheet-stuffing performances, we have them all! Following games each week, you can submit your picks for top performers by tweeting at us @PrepRedzoneOK or emailing Michael@PrepRedzone.com. This week, we're putting the spotlight on 25 different players across the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='1083187' first='Barrett' last='Mullen'] - Junior Quarterback - Cascia Hall

Last week, Cascia Hall quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1083187' first='Barrett' last='Mullen'] made this breakdown for a big performance despite dealing with a stomach bug. This week, he was incredibly efficient and dominant as the Commandos won again, this time with a 61-14 victory over Jay. Mullen would finish the night with just over 300 yards and four touchdowns on 15-20 passing. Cascia Hall has now won four straight and they are in full command in the district. Mullen is continuing to solidify himself as one of the top quarterbacks in the Tulsa area. Look for him and the Commandos to finish the regular season strong.

[player_tooltip player_id='434307' first='Barrett' last='Travis'] - Senior Running Back - Heritage Hall

Heritage Hall was up against the ropes on Thursday night and nearly had their lengthy district winning streak snapped in Plainview. Senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='434307' first='Barrett' last='Travis'] wouldn't let it happen as he led the Chargers back in the 27-21 overtime win. The senior would finish the night with nearly 150 yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries. Travis and the Chargers were trailing 14-0 at halftime but would rally to tie the game up by the end of regulation and after Plainview couldn't score on their possession, the Chargers would score and escaped week seven with a dramatic overtime win.

[player_tooltip player_id='1082649' first='Brad' last='Hoisington'] - Senior Quarterback - Claremore

This district in Class 5A continues to be absolute chaos after Claremore beat Collinsville 35-34 at home on Thursday night. The Zebras outscored the Cardinals 20-7 in the final quarter and senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1082649' first='Brad' last='Hoisington'] was a big part of the comeback in the second half. The senior would have arguably his best game of the season after throwing for over 200 yards and two touchdowns on 14-21 passing. He was also a workhorse in the run game, with over 20 carries for just under 100 yards and a score on the ground. Claremore needed this win to keep their playoff hopes alive moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='353410' first='Caden' last='Knighten'] - Senior Running Back - Pauls Valley

Pauls Valley had to bounce back after losing a double overtime heartbreaker to North Rock Creek in week six. They would do just that by going on the road and beating Anadarko 49-21 on Thursday night. Senior running back and Baylor commit [player_tooltip player_id='353410' first='Caden' last='Knighten'] would once again shine in this Pauls Valley offense but this time, he did almost all of his damage on the ground. Knighten would finish with just over 250 yards and five touchdowns on the ground. Knighten has also become one of the top targets in the Pauls Valley passing game but in week seven, it was all about what he could do on the ground.

[player_tooltip player_id='593641' first='Caleb' last='Hawkins'] - Senior Running Back/Defensive Back - North Rock Creek

On the same day that North Rock Creek senior [player_tooltip player_id='593641' first='Caleb' last='Hawkins'] got added to our PRZ-OK Player Of The Year Watchlist, he instantly backed up the hype in a 42-21 win over Purcell. Hawkins would finish the night with nearly 250 yards and four touchdowns on 20 carries. He also continues to be an incredibly productive defensive player for the Cougars, finishing the night with a forced fumble that he also recovered. There are a handful of players that we feel like make it onto this weekly feature every single week and Hawkins is definitely one of those guys. Friday was another example of that.

[player_tooltip player_id='473891' first='Creed' last='Barrett'] - Freshman Quarterback - Washington

Washington is now all alone with the state's longest active winning streak at 37 consecutive games. They had to survive overtime with Marlow to get it done but they prevailed 35-28. This is the second time this season Washington has had to go to overtime and this is the second time that freshman quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='473891' first='Creed' last='Barrett'] has stepped up in those OT games. Barrett would throw for nearly 250 yards and three touchdowns on 20-28 passing. He also added 31 yards and a touchdown on the ground as the Warriors continue to roll on as the favorite in Class 2A-1 this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='595759' first='Crew' last='Noles'] - Junior Wide Receiver - Norman

It was a back and forth game between Norman and Moore on Thursday night but the Tigers would improve to 6-1 on the season with an exciting 42-35 victory. Junior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='595759' first='Crew' last='Noles'] is enjoying a breakout season this year and he enjoyed another big game on Thursday. Noles would finish the night with just over 150 yards and a touchdown on six receptions. He also finished with a little over 30 yards and a score on the ground. You can definitely make the argument that the week seven performance was the best production that Noles has had for the Tigers this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='805093' first='Deetrick' last='Beavers'] - Senior Running Back - Shawnee

Shawnee is now 5-2 on the season and the Wolves are inching closer and closer to locking up a playoff spot in Class 5A. Senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='805093' first='Deetrick' last='Beavers'] is no stranger to this weekly feature and he's definitely on the shortlist of players in 5A that might have flown under the radar before the season but have been lights out. In the win over Durant, Beavers would finish with over 180 yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries. He also added a pair of catches for over 30 yards. Beavers has been electric at the running back position but has also become a reliable pass catcher.

Dreandre Bruton - Sophomore Running Back - Piedmont

Piedmont has all but locked up a playoff spot in their first season in Class 6A-2. The Wildcats would go on the road to beat Lawton Eisenhower with a 49-31 victory. Once again, it was the Piedmont rushing attack that would lead the way as they had multiple players go over 100 yards on the ground. Sophomore running back Dreandre Bruton would lead the way on Friday night and it was incredibly efficient. He would finish with over 200 yards and three touchdowns on just eight carries. Piedmont also still has a chance to get a first round bye when the playoffs roll around.

[player_tooltip player_id='1473214' first='Ja' last='Posey'] - Sophomore Quarterback - Pocola

It's pretty rare that we see a quarterback throw for more than 500 yards in a game. Sophomore quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1473214' first='Ja' last='Posey'] has now accomplished that in at least two games this season. He did it earlier this month in the game against Rejoice Christian and then he did it again on Thursday night as they beat Chouteau 62-36. Posey would finish the night with 526 yards and six touchdowns on 19-27 passing. It's safe to say that Posey is one of the breakout stars at the quarterback position. We don't have complete stats from every team, but by all indications, Posey is leading the stat in passing this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1083768' first='Kainon' last='Gibson'] - Junior Wide Receiver - Holland Hall

It was a rematch of last year's first round playoff game and Holland Hall would knock off Checotah once again. And in a game that featured arguably the best wide receiver in the state, it was junior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1083768' first='Kainon' last='Gibson'] who would end up shining the brightest. Gibson would help lead the Dutch to a 33-32 win over Checotah on Thursday. Gibson finished the night with just over 200 yards and three touchdowns on seven receptions. Gibson also shined on the defensive side of the ball with an interception there. Holland Hall is starting to pick up some momentum as we get closer to the playoffs.

[player_tooltip player_id='530573' first='Kale' last='Charboneau'] - Senior Quarterback/Linebacker - Wagoner

Wagoner remained undefeated on the year with a 42-21 victory over Cushing. This game was close early on and the Bulldogs would run away with the win. And it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that senior standout [player_tooltip player_id='530573' first='Kale' last='Charboneau'] put up some monster numbers in every phase of the game. On the offensive side of the ball, Charboneau would throw for nearly 300 yards on 17-28 passing. He also added 125 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. On defense, Charboneau had 13 tackles with three of them coming behind the line of scrimmage. It was another dominant performance.

[player_tooltip player_id='402378' first='KD' last='Jones'] - Junior Running Back - Jenks

Jenks is picking up more and more momentum as the playoffs are right around the corner. They would hand Deer Creek their first loss of the year with a 28-0 victory. Junior running back [player_tooltip player_id='402378' first='KD' last='Jones'] was once again the star on the offensive side of the ball as a complete playmaker. Jones would finish the night with 125 yards and a score on the ground. He also had 50 yards and a pair of touchdowns as a receiver. Jones has been on an absolute roll over the last month and it feels like he's consistently reminding us every week why he's one of the very best players in the state of Oklahoma.

[player_tooltip player_id='572028' first='Kleat' last='Martens'] - Senior Quarterback - Hooker

It was the game of the week as #2 Hooker took down #1 Fairview and ended their 36-game winning streak. Senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='572028' first='Kleat' last='Martens'] had a night to remember with three rushing touchdowns and a passing touchdown in the 38-7 victory. These two teams met for the state championship game a year ago and Martens got hurt during the game and could only watch from the sidelines as his team had to settle for silver. This year, Martens led his offense to a dominant performance on the ground. It was a big redemption win for Martens and the Bulldogs made quite the statement on Thursday night.

[player_tooltip player_id='1524935' first='Landen' last='Griffith'] - Sophomore Quarterback - Talihina

Talihina remained undefeated on the season and sophomore quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1524935' first='Landen' last='Griffith'] continued his monster season as a passer and a runner. Talihina beat Liberty 51-12 to improve to 7-0 on the season. Griffith would throw for well over 200 yards and a touchdown on 12-21 passing. Griffith would also add just over 200 yards and four touchdowns on 31 carries. When you look at Griffith's production this season, that kind of stat line in the win over Liberty has just become a routine occurrence. Griffith is clearly one of the breakout stars this season and is a major dual-threat weapon.

[player_tooltip player_id='424595' first='Masyn' last='Wright'] - Junior Running Back - Vian

Vian junior running back [player_tooltip player_id='424595' first='Masyn' last='Wright'] was once again unstoppable as the Wolverines remained unbeaten with a 43-14 win over Henryetta on Thursday night. Wright would finish with nearly 200 yards and four touchdowns on 15 carries. He also added a 19-yard passing touchdown in the win and six tackles and an interception on the defensive side of the ball. At this point, it feels like Wright could be on this feature every single week. There is no doubt in our minds that he is one of the best players in the state of Oklahoma this season. He has Vian as the hands down title favorite in Class 2A-2.

[player_tooltip player_id='476091' first='Mayor' last='Morgan'] - Junior Running Back - Choctaw

It was the game of the week in Class 6A-2 and it lived up to the hype as Choctaw would beat Stillwater 35-28. The Yellowjackets were once again led by a balanced offense that is incredibly tough to slow down. Junior running back [player_tooltip player_id='476091' first='Mayor' last='Morgan'] continues to show why he's one of the better running backs in Class 6A-2 this season. Morgan would finish the night with 130 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 16 carries. Morgan has had a monster junior season and he continues to get better and better. He's producing at a very high level and it was good to see him continue that against top competition.

[player_tooltip player_id='916927' first='Nate' last='Jones'] - Senior Running Back - Lawton

Lawton started the year with an 0-3 record but they haven't lost since entering district play. The Wolverines are unbeaten in district play after beating El Reno 33-20 in week seven. Senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='916927' first='Nate' last='Jones'] had one of the more complete offensive performances of the week. He would finish with just under 100 yards rushing and three touchdowns. He also added just under 100 yards receiving and a touchdown. The Wolverines are now 4-0 in district play and they have a massive match-up with Carl Albert coming up. All of Lawton's playoff goals are still alive heading into week eight.

[player_tooltip player_id='595685' first='Owen' last='Eshelman'] - Senior Quarterback - Norman North

Norman North would secure their first win of the year after going on the road and beating Broken Arrow 47-28 on Thursday night. Senior quarterback and South Dakota State commit [player_tooltip player_id='595685' first='Owen' last='Eshelman'] reminded everyone of why he's one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the state's 2025 class. He would throw for just over 250 yards and three touchdowns on 16-21 passing. He also added 135 yards and a pair of touchdowns after finishing with nearly 20 carries. Eshelman and the Timberwolves now hope this win gives them some momentum to secure a playoff spot in the final three weeks.

[player_tooltip player_id='1549996' first='Quinlan' last='Bailey'] - Senior Running Back/Linebacker - Broken Bow

Whenever Broken Bow is featured on this breakdown, it's usually their sophomore quarterback, who's enjoying a breakout season. But in the 37-22 win over Hilldale on Thursday, senior running back and linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1549996' first='Quinlan' last='Bailey'] had a big night on both sides of the ball. Bailey would finish with nearly 170 yards and a touchdown on the ground. He also had 11 tackles and an interception on the defensive side of the ball. Broken Bow lost their season opener to McAlester and hasn't lost since. This is a team looking more and more like a serious contender in Class 4A this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1160233' first='Rashaud' last='Reynolds'] - Senior Running Back - Sapulpa

Following an 0-3 start, Sapulpa is starting to pick up a ton of momentum as they have now won four straight games and it helps that they are getting healthy in some key spots. Senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1160233' first='Rashaud' last='Reynolds'] returned to the lineup after getting banged up during non-district play. Reynolds was a player that the Chieftains thought could have a big senior season and he reminded us why as they beat Ponca City 28-7 on Thursday night. Reynolds would finish with just over 150 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries. The Chieftains now shift their focus to the toughest stretch of the district schedule.

[player_tooltip player_id='472321' first='Ritson' last='Meyer'] - Junior Running Back - Elgin

Elgin remained undefeated and will remain in the top spot in the Class 4A rankings after absolutely smashing Weatherford 56-14 on Thursday night. Junior running back [player_tooltip player_id='472321' first='Ritson' last='Meyer'] continues to have a strong first season as Elgin's marquee running back. He would finish the night with nearly 200 yards and four touchdowns on 20 carries. He also had 54 yards receiving in the win. Meyer had a solid game against Weatherford last season but this time around, he was the go-to back in the Elgin offense. He's quickly established himself as one of the top running backs in Class 4A this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='479390' first='Seneca' last='Steele'] - Senior Quarterback - Kansas

Following a tough loss to Adair in week six, Kansas bounced back with a big win over Commerce on Thursday night. The Comets would roll to a 56-13 victory and senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='479390' first='Seneca' last='Steele'] led the offensive onslaught in this one. Steele would throw for nearly 200 yards and three touchdowns on 8-10 pasing. He would also add nearly 100 yards and a pair of touchdowns on the ground. Steele is also a standout on the defensive side of the ball and he came up with an interception on defense and returned it 70 yards for his sixth total touchdown in the dominating victory.

[player_tooltip player_id='858876' first='Tayveon' last='Parry'] - Junior Running Back - Union

Union's running game had no problems on Thursday night as they beat Yukon 59-30 and put on an absolute show in the running game. The Redhawks had two different players run for more than 100 yards and score a pair of touchdowns but junior running back [player_tooltip player_id='858876' first='Tayveon' last='Parry'] continues to be the electric playmaker within this Redhawk offense. In the win on Thursday night, Parrry would finish with 170 yards and three touchdowns on just ten carries. Two of those three touchdowns were on long runs as he continues to enjoy a breakout season and Union is starting to pick up some momentum.

Zizi Okwufulueze - Junior Wide Receiver - Rejoice Christian

Rejoice Christian continues to climb the Class A-1 rankings this week after handing Hartshorne their first loss of the season on Thursday night. The Eagles won 48-6 in dominant fashion and junior wide receiver Zizi Okwufuleze continued his breakout junior season. We didn't know much about him prior to the season but it only took a few weeks before we realized he was primed for that breakout year. In the win over Hartshorne, Okwufuleze would finish the night with just over 160 yards and three touchdowns on just five receptions. With the win, Rejoice is one step closer to the district crown.
