Wrapping up the regular season, I wanted to give a shout out to some of the top QB-WR connections that we have seen this year.

With the playoffs hitting hard and fast later this week, these combo playmakers have been lighting it up all season and are peaking at the right time.

They are also burning up the air waves in a variety of ways and operating out of widely different offensive schemes as the primary receiver or a tag-team approach. But regardless of scheme, these guys are standout playmakers who are capable of making any offense shine.

So, without further adieu, let's jump into some of the top QB's rolling into playoff season.

[player_tooltip player_id='442659' first='Blake' last='Elli Chartiers'], 5'9, 170, QB, Humboldt, '25 - is one of the top dual-threat QB's in the state this season and on a very short list of studs who passed for 1,000+ yards and also ran for 1,000+ yards during the regular season. He also ran and passed for 38 TD's, including 13 TD passes to only one interception. When they aired it out, he usually went to versatile [player_tooltip player_id='1591838' first='Mason' last='Sterling'], 5'8, 175, ATH, Humboldt, '26, who caught 15 passes for 298 yards and four TD's, added 516 yards on 48 carries and another seven touchdowns on the ground.

[player_tooltip player_id='733502' first='Banks' last='Bowen'], 6'3, 200, QB, Lawrence, '25 - was the leading dual-threat QB for all of the regular season after getting off to a smoking hot start. Through eight games he has passed for 2,090 yards on 154 of 242 attempts and 22 TD passes to four picks. He also gained 760 yards on the ground to give him just under 3,000 total yards over eight games. When he went to the air it was usually to senior playmaker [player_tooltip player_id='1401801' first='Jaxon' last='Becker'], 6'1, 175, ATH, Lawrence, '26, who hauled in 44 passes for 595 yards and six touchdowns.

[player_tooltip player_id='733500' first='Bravin' last='Powell'], 6'4, 205, QB, Gardner Edgerton, '25, the senior stud quarterback on the defending state champions has been off the charts this year as GE rolls into the playoffs. Although the Trailblazers are primarily a running attack they have amped up their strike power through the air, as Powell and senior speedster wideout [player_tooltip player_id='1115438' first='Tim' last='Chartier'], 6'2, 180, WR/KR, Gardner Edgerton, '25, are peaking at the right time. Last Friday they hooked up for five passes for 128 yards and a pair of touchdowns. These guys are going to be tough to stop in the playoffs.

[player_tooltip player_id='1113456' first='Kris' last='Harding II'], 6'0, 185, QB, Chanute, '26 the junior playmaker has taken his game to the next level this year after a breakout sophomore year. So far this season he has completed 99 of 170 passes for just under 60% completion percentage and has piled up 19 total touchdowns. When he airs it out he usually goes to standout multi-positional player [player_tooltip player_id='1632787' first='Eliott' last='Stephenson'], 6'2, 195, ATH, Chanute, '25, who hauled in 34 passes for 618 yards and six TD's. He also added 180 yards rushing on 15 carries and another TD. A couple weeks ago they teamed up for 150 yards and three touchdowns to keep their winning streak alive.

During the Crusader's six-game winning streak he has been key, and on the year he completed 134 of 201 passes for 2,500 yards and 25 TD's. The Crusader passing attack has been lethal, with all-state wideout [player_tooltip player_id='570215' first='Carter' last='Burnett'], 6'4, 195, WR, Wellington, '25, catching 51 passes for 1,100 yards and 10 TD's; and senior athlete [player_tooltip player_id='1552950' first='Grady' last='Norris'], 6'0, 170, WR, Wellington, '25, who hauled in 20 passes for 529 yards and eight TD's.

In conclusion, these guys are too good not to get out and see play live. Time is running out if you want to see them in 2024. And, as always, if you know of any players or teams flying under the radar, feel free to reach out to me via DM on X.
