Week 8 Defensive Standouts

After week eight in Arkansas, we evaluate several standout prospects based on their performances from Friday night on the defensive side of the ball. Their film was impressive, as they excelled in every phase of the game. Here are five athletes to watch as the season continues. Stribling displays good read-and-react ability, quickly breaking on the ball with a good change of direction and burst to force a PBU or INT. His instincts stand out, and awareness stands out within the secondary. He has good speed, physicality, and athleticism; he understands how to engage blockers with his hands and disengage to make a tackle in space. Stewart displays good read and react ability, attacking downhill vs. the run with good angles while staying square. He's physical at the point of attack and will meet running backs at the LOS. He has a good awareness of the football vs. the pass. His night resulted in 12 tackles, five of which were solo. With each rep, he displays solid angles while pursuing the ball carrier and consistently puts himself in a position to make a play in space. Jenkins is physical at the point of attack as well. He's a true run-support linebacker, which makes him someone to watch throughout his career. Jasna is a hard-hitting defensive back who plays with good motor and physicality at the point of attack. He's a fluid athlete who showcases good read and react ability, putting himself in a position to make a play on the football. Good footwork and post-snap awareness. He's a dynamic player who can make plays all over the field. You can expect him to rise up our rankings in the next update. Brownlee played sideline-to-sideline, showcasing his impressive motor with good angles. His night resulted in 21 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 FF, and 1 quarterback hurry. Brownlee displays good read-and-react ability, putting himself in a position to make a tackle in space or arrive at the catch point. He attacks and fills gaps while staying square and having good physicality at the POA. The young prospect should be added to your board quickly.
