Week 6 held an intriguing matchup between two very competitive teams in the Mid-Southeast-West division between the Cleveland Clippers (3-2) and the Norwood Young America Central Raiders (5-0). The game started off competitively, with Norwood gaining a 14-7 lead during the second quarter. However, a string of deep TD throws in the second quarter turned the close affair into a 33-14 lead for Norwood by half-time. Norwood would never let up their performance in the second half, running up the score en route to a dominant 68-20 win, staying undefeated and at the top of the division with this blowout.

Here are some of the top performances from this matchup!

QB Kyson Evenski - Norwood Young America: 6'4", 175 lbs, Junior

Overcoming a shaky start in the first drive, Kyson Evinski made it look easy as he was completely airing the ball out. By the end of the third quarter, he had thrown 5 touchdowns, connecting on 3 touchdown passes of 60+ yards in the second quarter alone. Evinski was connecting all night on deep crossing routes and go-routes, showing his impressive arm strength as he pieced apart the secondary, not to mention that he added a rushing TD on a QB draw. If anyone deserves to have their stock bumped up greatly this week, it's Evinski after his spectacular performance.

WR [player_tooltip player_id='1688597' first='Brayden' last='Dent'] - Norwood Young America: 5'7", 170 lbs, Junior

The recipient of all three touchdowns during the second quarter was [player_tooltip player_id='1688597' first='Brayden' last='Dent'], who had one of the best single-quarter performances of any WR in Minnesota all season. His three catches in the second quarter combined for a total 205 yards. His first two touchdown catches came on deep post routes, in which he was able to get behind the secondary and make the catch in stride before racing to the end zone. His third touchdown came on a deep go-route, beating his man deep and getting to the ball once again in stride. Dent now has 7 touchdown receptions through 6 games and he's proven himself to be unstoppable as a deep threat.

ATH Brennan Korteum - Cleveland: 5'10", 160 lbs, Senior

By far the MVP for Cleveland in the loss was Brennan Korteum, who had an excellent night playing in all three aspects of the game. During the second quarter, Korteum caught two touchdown passes, including a 62 yarder on a fade route. Playing at CB, Korteum had a couple strong reps, including a pass-breakup on a deep-throw on third down in the first quarter. But his biggest play of the night came in the third quarter, when he took a kickoff 87 yards to the end zone. Korteum was responsible for all of Cleveland's scoring plays in week 6, and he should remain the X-factor for the Clippers moving forward.

DL [player_tooltip player_id='945930' first='Carter' last='Storms'] - Norwood Young America: 6'6", 225 lbs, Senior

Cleveland struggled during the night to get much momentum in the run game, and [player_tooltip player_id='945930' first='Carter' last='Storms'] played a significant part in shutting down the run. Storms was explosive throughout the night, winning with his quick first step and made several tackles in the backfield throughout the night. The most notable play that stood out for me came in the second quarter, when Cleveland attempted a flip pass to run up the middle. Storms was in the backfield instantly and made a hard tackle to stop the ball-carrier behind the line. Storms is an exciting edge-rusher who's clearly been the face of Norwood's defense this season.

LB [player_tooltip player_id='1102620' first='Micah' last='Fenney'] - Norwood Young America: 6'5", 215 lbs, Junior

Just as equally effective in stopping the run that night, [player_tooltip player_id='1102620' first='Micah' last='Fenney'] proved to be a difficult player for Cleveland to contain throughout the night. Fenney often was lined up on the outside edge, off the line of scrimmage, and he got into the backfield with such ease throughout the game. Fenney often forced the RB to change direction by being at his contain spot in quick time, often being the first player in the backfield for the defense, which played a big part in closing the run-game down. Fenney and Storms are a dangerous one-two punch in containing the edge that has propelled this defense to much success through the season.

ATH [player_tooltip player_id='1207342' first='Kale' last='Kelley'] - Cleveland: 5'10", 155 lbs, Senior

The other solid receiver in the passing game for Cleveland during the night was [player_tooltip player_id='1207342' first='Kale' last='Kelley']. Kelley lined up both in the backfield and in the slot as one of the more versatile players on the Clippers' offense. Kelley had several nice receptions throughout the night, proving to be a very reliable option in the HB screen, doing a great job in maneuvering around the defense to gain solid yardage after the catch. He also had a bobbled catch during the second quarter off a crossing-route. Kelley, who leads Cleveland in rushing yards this season wasn't able to make much noise on the ground, but he did expand his versatility by proving his capabilities in the passing game.

RB Hunter Sudheimer - Norwood Young America: 6'0", 170 lbs, Senior

Norwood had a great night pounding the rock, and Hunter Sudheimer was the most effective ball-carrier in their deep backfield that racked up a total 265 yards rushing on Friday night. Sudheimer finished with 86 rushing yards on just 8 carries and a rushing touchdown. Sudheimer did a great job finding the open running lanes on the outside and keeping his balance in bounds. Sudheimer isn't a flashy runner, but he's been effective in getting solid yardage every time he's touched the ball this season.

LB/OL [player_tooltip player_id='1204488' first='Michael' last='Mackenthun'] - Norwood Young America - 6'2", 225 lbs, Senior

Leading the way for the dominant run-game on Friday night for Norwood was [player_tooltip player_id='1204488' first='Michael' last='Mackenthun']. Starting at Center, Mackenthun isn't a big, imposing blocker, but he's certainly made up for his size with his aggressive, bull-rushing play. Mackenthun won many of his reps on Friday night as he overpowered the interior-defenders to create lanes up the middle for his RBs. Mackenthun's recognition has mostly been for his efforts at LB, but he's definitely held his own as a blocker on the trenches as well.

RB Trevin Hermann - Norwood Young America - 6'0", 205 lbs, Senior

The other leading rusher for Norwood's run game was Trevin Hermann, who's effective running allowed Norwood to cruise their way to victory. Hermann particularly took over in the second half, pounding the rock and allowing the offense to continue to rack up points. Hermann finished the night with 76 yards on 10 carries and two touchdowns as well as a 2PT-conversion. Hermann should remain a vital contributor to Norwood's run-game through his senior year.
