Team Breakdown: Westfield Defense

The Westfield Shamrocks, at 6-1, have plenty of horses to win a state title on offense. But their defense, which limited Avon to just 13 points last week, is also dominant and can shut down opposing offenses in Indiana's Class 6A competition. Here are five key players to know.    Aramboles is the younger brother of wide receiver Gabe Aramboles. Like his brother, he's a very athletic player and big contributor on the Shamrocks' defense. Aramboles is a strong open-field tackler, has good chase/pursuit skills, very good instincts, and flashes twitch and a good nose for the ball. He also has a high motor, he's an agile pass rusher off the edge. Key to Aramboles' recruiting will be his size and how much he grows.     June is the son of former Colts linebacker and current Colts assistant coach Cato June Sr., who helped lead the Colts' defense to their first Super Bowl title in 2007. The younger June is very fast - he clocked 20.34 miles per hour at last Friday's game - and he's a strong safety prospect for the Shamrocks. He has strong closing speed, good tackling ability in the open field, and has plenty of upside as an underclassmen recruit.     Lennox is the younger brother of Popeye Williams, currently a defensive end for Western Michigan and former Louisville Cardinal signee. Lennox is an effective open-field tackler and good blitzer who flows nicely to the ball. He has also played at both inside and outside linebacker positions, giving him additional positional flexibility as a college prospect.     Webster is a great contributor on the Shamrocks' defense and multi-year varsity starter. He is very versatile: he is a stout run defender but is also great in pass defense, recording an interception v. Avon and taking it to the house. He's a good pass rusher, too, and can thump as a tackler, knocking back ballcarriers. He's a very good under-the-radar senior recruit who is having a strong senior season.     Butler is a slightly undersized but strong defensive tackle with impressive foot speed and a good first step. He can quickly get around interior guards, wreck havoc on the opposing quarterback, and is a good block shedder. He plays an underrated role on the Shamrocks' defense and could be a nice addition on a small college team.
