Midseason Unranked Seniors Spotlight: DL

It's time to shine a spotlight on some unranked prospects who may have been under the radar heading into the season but deserve notoriety at the halfway point of the season. Here are some unranked senior prospects to know at the midway point.    2025 Fairmont Senior OL/DL [player_tooltip player_id='1229718' first='Kaleb' last='Arbogast'] has had a strong start to his senior season, and we're getting some film of him for the first time in his career.   Arbogast has totaled 21.5 tackles, 7 TFLs, and 10 QB hurries through the first five games of the season while not playing for four quarters in many of the games due to scores. He has a wrestling background that benefits his interior defensive line play and that shows up on tape. Arbogast is a strong and imposing force who gets great push and can even do so against double teams. Where he lacks prototypical size, Arbogast makes up for it with leverage and upper-body strength. He's quick off the ball and physically dominant at the point of attack while being a sure tackler at the line of scrimmage as a run-stopping defensive tackle. If he doesn't elect to wrestle in college, Arbogast has real potential to play at the D2 level if he can continue getting bigger and would be a steal for a D3 program.      A new name who is producing this season for Wheeling Park is 2025 DL [player_tooltip player_id='1226830' first='Jayden' last='Woods-Davis'] who colleges need to be familiar with.   He's a big interior DL body who has totaled 30 tackles, 4 TFLs, and 2 sacks in 6 games. Woods-Davis has a great 6'3-6'4 frame that he can continue maximizing at the college level and taking his game to the next level. He's often asked to play zero and one tech in the Patriots' 3-man front and does a nice job eating up blocking and being a space filler. Woods-Davis can hold his ground well even when doubled and does a great job battling and fighting to the ball. He'll make most of his plays near the line of scrimmage as primarily a run-stopper in their scheme but he also has quality short-area quickness and can track down runners and quarterbacks at times. It wouldn't surprise us if a D2 program takes interest in Woods-Davis by Signing Day with his amount of upside and potential.      2025 Westside OL/DL [player_tooltip player_id='1467773' first='Brayden' last='Kenneda'] has upside on both sides of the line at the next level but has had a strong start to his senior season along the defensive line.   The 6'4 245 big man has totaled 31 tackles and 4 sacks in five games for the Renegades as a big defensive end. His future is likely moving inside as he fills out his large frame further as he plays DE like a tackle would. Kenneda is tough to move off the ball and makes most of his plays near the line of scrimmage. He can eat up multiple blockers especially when there's a tight end attached to his side of the field. Kenneda is a high-effort player which you can see proof of on film with his pursuit of the ball regardless of where he or the ball is on the field. He has a lot of upside and potential that should interest D2 programs with a moldable body to develop for a few years at the next level.      [player_tooltip player_id='1522125' first='Quinton' last='Atkinson'] has been a valuable depth piece along the Fairmont Senior offensive line and his services shouldn't be overlooked on a stacked roster.   He can benefit a college program and would be a full-time starter for a lot of programs in the state. Size is in his favor at 6'2 280, and he appears to have quality athleticism to pair with it. Atkinson's first step is quick and he can beat guards and centers to the A-gap. He can line up head over the center or slide over to one tech and gets consistent push when his number is called. There's a lot there for colleges to work with, and Atkinson definitely has the ability to play at the next level.      [player_tooltip player_id='908998' first='Dominik' last='Maple'] is a small school DL prospect to know from Madonna who has been a stalwart for the Blue Dons for years now.   He has past linebacker experience and plays a lot of stand-up edge rusher this season, but his body is growing into a hand-in-the-dirt defensive lineman. Maple has upside as a traditional defensive lineman as he's athletic for his size and has maintained it while he's gotten bigger. He's quick off the edge and strong which is a deadly combination at the Class A level. Maple can make plays in space or be stout crashing the edge in run support too. He plays with a clear level of physicality and has the tools and potential to be a very good player at the D3 level in the future.      Mingo Central's [player_tooltip player_id='1229737' first='Brennon' last='Harrison'] is an intriguing prospect with positional versatility who has upside as a defensive line prospect.   We've gotten film of Harrison for the first time this season and has past quarterback experience for the Miners' younger team. TE or DE feel like natural spots for him given his 6'1 215 size with room to continue growing in the future. Harrison has provided good reps at DE this season for Mingo Central as an athletic presence off the end who has quality strength and power as well. He can beat tackles inside and get penetration into the backfield quickly at times with the speed to pursue the ball. Harrison is far from a finished product but has the potential to develop into a quality small college player in time.      Another new name on our radar this season that small colleges should know is 2025 Liberty-Harrison DL [player_tooltip player_id='1522124' first='Landon' last='Schoonover'].   He has quality D3 defensive line size in the 6'0 235 range with room to grow and has good reps on both sides of the line that could allow him to play OL in college depending on how much bigger he can get. Schoonover can line up inside or outside along the DL and has quality quickness and power for his size. He's physical at the line of scrimmage and as a tackler but can also play in space. Schoonover has tools that small colleges can use to develop him into a future starter at the next level.      Wyoming East's [player_tooltip player_id='1126835' first='Lee' last='Hearn'] has the potential to be recruited as a LB or DL and has moved to the defensive line this season likely out of necessity.   The Warrior may be an often overlooked program, but Hearn can provide value to a D3 program. Hearn could end up as a hybrid LB/DL type of player at the next level depending on the scheme and has done good things at both positions during his high school career. He's a physical and strong athlete who holds his own as a smaller defensive lineman whose size can also allow him to squeeze past offensive linemen to get to the backfield at times. Hearn is a versatile and selfless player who shouldn't fly under the radar of colleges this year.
