Louisiana's top Week 5 large schools performances

The fifth of Louisiana high school football action was another full of standout performances from all over the state.   Prep Redzone Louisiana has gathered more than 35 of the top stat lines. [player_tooltip player_id='914207' first='Aidan' last='Anding'] — 5-11, 165 DB — Ruston (2025)   The LSU commit snatched an impressive interception downfield, returned a kickoff for a touchdown and helped contain Texas Tech-committed Stephenville (Texas) receiver Tristian Gentry in a 63-17 Bearcats win against the powerhouse in the neighboring state.   Donovan Beathley — LB — Zachary (2026)   The junior was among the weekend's top special teams performers with a pair of blocked punts a 24-6 win against Opelousas in addition to his role in a stout Broncos defensive effort.   [player_tooltip player_id='1257573' first='Braylon' last='Brown'] — 5-9, 130 DB — Terrebonne (2025)   The senior defensive back overcame a scary injury early this season to not only return to the football field, but play a pivotal role in the Tigers handing perennial power Destrehan its first district loss since 2019 with his seven tackles and 47-yard pick-six in a 30-21 victory. [player_tooltip player_id='461064' first='Jarvis' last='Davis Jr']. — 5-10, 170 WR — Airline (2025)   The senior receiver caught 14 passes for a team-high 257 yards and two touchdowns in the Vikings' victory.   [player_tooltip player_id='710082' first='Jeremie' last='Elzy'] — 5-10, 160 DB — Covington (2025)   The standout cornerback, who has taken on more of an offensive role this season, gives the undefeated Lions a third different representative on the top performers list in the past three weeks. Elzy continued his strong senior season with a kick-return touchdown, rushing touchdown, two forced fumbles and a hard-hitting pass break-up.   Gavin Ferrington — 5-8, 170 QB/ATH — Parkway (2025)   The Centenary lacrosse commit rejoined the team Monday for the first time since freshman year as the Panthers headed into a meeting between undefeated District 1-5A teams without a quarterback after the injury to their starter among several absences. And Ferrington went on to complete 12 of his 13 passes for 140 yards and two touchdowns and lead an efficient performance on third and fourth downs. [player_tooltip player_id='624840' first='Landen' last='Sanchez'] — 6-1, 165 QB — Assumption (2025)   The Mustangs' senior quarterback completed eight of nine passes for 145 yards and three touchdowns and rushed seven times for 136 yards and another two scores. [player_tooltip player_id='1220973' first='Calvin' last='Smith Jr.'] — 5-11, 205 RB — Hahnville (2025)   The Southeastern Louisiana commit needed just 11 carries to rack up 169 yards and three touchdowns against H.L. Bourgeois to already help the Tigers match their win total for 2023 at just the midway mark of this season.   [player_tooltip player_id='710768' first='Daejawn' last='Smith'] — 5-11, 170 WR — Edna Karr (2025)   The Cougars' senior caught four passes for 114 yards, including a pair of explosive 65- and 38-yard scores in the second quarter, to help lead the team to a 34-13 win vs. St. Augustine.
