The young prospect leads a title contender, looking to bounce back quickly. He possesses quick processing skills, a strong arm, and good pocket mobility. Last week, he had 11 carries for 102 yards (9.3 yards per carry) and scored 2 touchdowns. Mayweather displays solid vision after the snap to find running lanes and quickly attack them with a good burst to get past the initial defenders. His speed and acceleration allow him to out run linebackers in the second level. Clemons displays solid read-and-react ability, attacking downhill against the run with good angles and physicality at the point of attack or arriving at the catch point to force a pass breakup (PBU) or interception (INT). He displays good initial quickness off the line of scrimmage and good footwork. Welborn also demonstrates good hand placement, hand strength, and well-timed strong punches to disrupt defenders and create space, either by driving them back or displacing them out of running lanes to open up opportunities for the running game. His quickness allows him to make effective reach and zone blocks, consistently overpowering opponents. In pass protection, he has a strong anchor and demonstrates good control with his lower body and core strength, as well as good hand placement and an awareness of potential stunts. He displays a quick release due to good acceleration and smooth route running; Young also possesses very good body control and the ability to stop and go, balance, and burst, allowing him to consistently create separation at his breaks. Additionally, he demonstrates good hand-eye coordination and strong hands when catching contested passes.
