The tight end position has become such a valuable asset to an offense. Nowadays, it is a must to have someone who can both block and catch the football, just one or the other won't fly anymore. Today's piece features names that I think have plenty of potential for the next level, but are flying under the radar. They haven't seen a ton of movement in their recruiting, but that could change if they continue to perform well on Fridays. Keep an eye on these guys as they venture through the rest of their senior seasons.

As always, If you have someone you think I need to see, please DM them to me on Twitter at @hsfbscout!

John Hutson, 6'3" 205, Walnut Grove

Hutson is dynamite after the catch, he's got wiggle, body control, and the vision to spot potential cutback opportunities. He's got good speed, a big catch radius, and can work all three levels of the field. He needs to add some weight before he enrolls at his next school, but I do think he has a ton of tools that will translate to the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1449605' first='Dominic' last='Parrish'] 6'4" 215, Coronado

A highly skilled route runner that knows how to attack a defender's leverage. He flies off the snap, stepping on a defender's toes, he's a tough inline blocker who plays through the echo of the whistle and looks to bury his opponent. He knows how to get a defender to open their hips, he can generate a ton of separation at the top of his routes and spin a defensive back like a top.

Heger Davis, 6'7" 235, Strake Jesuit

Davis has elite size for the tight end position and knows how to use it. He moves fairly well for a guy his size, he'll use different route tempos to confuse defenders and is a natural hands catcher who looks the ball into the tuck. He's at his best off play-action, consistently sneaking behind coverage. He'll use his frame to box out defenders and can set the edge on off-tackle outside zone schemes.

Cade Bauer, 6'5" 230, Tompkins

Bauer knows how to use his big frame to lean on defenders at the top of his route, he's got good burst and strong hands through contested catches. He can easily adjust to poorly placed throws, he's a physical ball carrier who consistently finishes runs falling forward and knows how to find the soft spots in zone coverage & exploit them.

Cash Hurst, 6'3" 230, Celina

A major weapon in the red area that has some pop as a blocker and looks to make defenders pay. He plays with good bend, he strikes on a rise, and can put defenders on skates. He looks to reset his hands if his punch goes wide and can lock on & sustain blocks at the second level.
