MOUNT PLEASANT | A stifling defense and timely passing plays were the keys to Wando's 21-7 victory over West Ashley on Friday night.

Led by [player_tooltip player_id='205794' first='Brock' last='Feinberg'] on defense and [player_tooltip player_id='1578818' first='Cole' last='Fletcher'] (pictured above) on offense, the Warriors improved to 3-2 on the season heading into its bye week.

A touchdown from [player_tooltip player_id='1592323' first='Harris' last='Stone'] to Fletcher gave Wando an early lead that they never lost.

Fletcher, who had four catches for 82 yards and two touchdowns, was all about giving love to his teammates after the game.

"I always trust my teammates to put me in good spots," he said. "Whether that's Harris throwing the pass, coach Craig making the call or even the offensive line, I trust everyone around me."

OTHER WANDO STANDOUTS

[player_tooltip player_id='1592323' first='Harris' last='Stone'] | The Wando quarterback went 9 of 14 for 162 yards and three touchdowns. Harris also ran the ball fourteen times for 56 yards. His ability to move out of the pocket and find open receivers made it difficult for any pass rush to get to him.

Reggie Grant | Grant collected eight carries for 31 yards. Grant was also a pass-blocking running game that held up quite nicely against several blitzes from West Ashley.

[player_tooltip player_id='1241751' first='Matthew' last='Payes'] | Payes blocked a punt in the second quarter that gave Wando their beat starting field position of the night by far.

Boone McClellan | McCllelan was all over the field on defense. Whether that was rushing the QB, stuffing the run, or even pass coverage, he was the best player on the field on defense for either side tonight.

WEST ASHLEY STANDOUTS

[player_tooltip player_id='1295653' first='Ethan' last='Ranew'] | Ranew was the only receiver with a catch. He hauled in three of them for 106 yards.

[player_tooltip player_id='1249843' first='Davion' last='Kinard-Taylor'] | Kinard-Taylor was able to get a bit of a pass rush tonight on defense. He collected a sack as well as multiple tackles for loss.

William Washington | Washington ran the ball sixteen times for 84 yards. It was a very counter-heavy rushing attack that Washington was able to manipulate well and had several solid runs.
