Week Three Scouting Report

<p>Last week, plenty of talent was on display, high-scoring games were played, and more. Our weekly scouting reports will continue to include detailed analyses of key players to monitor for the week in question, potential risers, or promising prospects who may not have garnered significant attention thus far and should watch as the season grows. Here are seven prospects to watch:</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1453925' first='Asher' last='Ruple'] has been solid throughout the first three games of the season. Ruple displays good initial quickness off the snap into his base or zone blocking. Good footwork, solid pad level, hand placement, and leg drive to displace defenders and create running lanes. He has the athletic ability and angles to combo off the DL, reach the second-level linebacker, and wall him off. He displays good footwork within the pocket while stepping into his throws with good torque. Very arm strength at all levels of the field (short, intermediate & deep), leading his receivers with good anticipation. Solid throw on the run due to his vision to keep his eyes downfield and solid foot speed to escape the pocket. Solid processing of coverages and blitzes pre-snap and post-snap results in good decision-making within the pocket with very good poise, utilizing very good pocket presence to avoid pressure. A couple of weeks ago, he threw for 248 yards and two touchdowns while also running for 114 yards under heavy pressure. He has solid ball placement at the short and intermediate levels of the field. Racking in 5 receptions for 98 yards and one touchdown. Billings is a smooth route runner and a YAC threat due to his elusiveness, good lateral agility, COD, and burst, enabling him to make sharp cuts or accelerate upfield quickly. His good arm strength and velocity allow him to hit all levels of the field. Ellison displays consistent ball placement with good anticipation to lead his receivers into YAC opportunities. Last week, he went 14/16 (88%) for 265 yards and 4 TDs, with 58 rushing yards and 2 TDS. He is a riser and someone to watch throughout the 2024 season. </p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Matchup to Watch: QB [player_tooltip player_id='176361' first='Peyton' last='Mills'] (Cutter Morning Star) vs QB [player_tooltip player_id='1352615' first='Cooper' last='Buss'] (Fountain Lake)</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='176361' first='Peyton' last='Mills'] and CMS are in their first season back of 11-man football after a few seasons of 8-man. Mills is a pro-style quarterback with a strong arm and good mobility in the pocket. He's a riser on our board and someone to watch this season. He displays solid footwork within the pocket, with pocket mobility and awareness to evade pressure. Buss displays solid ball placement and anticipation at both short and intermediate levels of the field. He layers the football over second-level defenders with good touch. Last week, he threw for 22/40 (55%), 273 passing yards, and 4 TDs.
